It was revealed that Elizabeth Edwards wife of 2008 presidential hopeful John Edwards cancer has returned and this time it is in her bones and it is incurable.
He has decided to continue to run for president, she supports him 100%.
Some people think he should drop out of the race and focus on his wifes health..others believe that if he drops out, it is a way of saying "my life is over".
What do you guys think? should he continue to run? should he care for his wife?
What would you do if you were in a situation like this??

I think John Edwards should do whatever he wants. Whoever says he shouldn't run can worry about themselves. If his wife supports him and he wants to do it what's the problem? You only live once so go after your dreams and don't let critics stop you.

can you not be an asswipe for one second and address the issue at hand?
This has nothing to do with democrat or republican, this is about someone making an importanct decision

So you want Republicans to win because competetion was wiped out? Ah well.
I must say I'm not completely sure who John Edwards is (I'm Norwegian, so I'm excused) but I think he should do whatever he wants to, as long as his wife' supportive and he's not like leaving her behind. No one besides him and his wife are in a position to make this decision so.
I wonder what I would have done, though.. Kinda hard to imagine, since I would pretty much avoid being president of the United States at all costs.

yea because YOU do not support his political views does not mean he shouldnt run. The issue at hand was if he should run, now that his wife has INCURABLE cancer.

Hey, you can have your own opinion, but you can't insult the people who are democrats on this forum!
I think he should do what his wife wants him to do and what he wants to do. I'm not really sure about his political views so I can't say he'd be a good president, but I think he should run.
I think one side of me would want to stay (the side that thinks 'I love her and want to stay by her side') but then again that won't solve anything. I think I'd be better if he ran and visited as often as he could.
But if I would really choose, I wouldn't be in politicts!! I would also visit as often as I could. If I truely believed in myself as a politician, I would run. But it I had any doubts, I would stay.
It's a hard decision.

no see, i dont think he should run because i do not support his political views.
but whatever. dont let any of my posts get you guys off topic.
depending on how long his wife is estimated to live, i think he should run. if its less than 10, probably not. 10-15, can go both ways. over 15, probably yes.

First off, stay out of people's lives, it's up to him. Secondly, it's not a democracy if people don't run against other people's views, you can't not want someone to run just because you don't support their views, just don't vote for them. Not that I'm saying the system still works and your vote actually matters.

i think he should run if he wants to. it should be a decision that both he and his wife make together and if they decide he should run, then he should run. if they decide he shouldn't, then he shouldn't. i don't really care if he runs, i'm not voting for him. but yeah it's sad about his wife.
