After I masturbated this morning, I noticed that, when I pee'd, I got a strong tickling sensation in my bladder and a burning in my urethra. (Gross, I know, sorry). I've ignored it until now, but it's been about 12 hours and the burning has stopped, but I still feel a tickle as i finish peeing, I've also noticed that there are spots of blood and what looks like mucus in my urine, but the urine itself hasn't changed colour.
It also feels like I have to go to the toilet all the time, but I don't.

1. What is this?
2. Will it pass?
3. Do i need to see someone urgently?

Ps. Sorry for the bluntness. xx#

Thanks in advance!

I would be on to say never go to a doctor after the 72 hours I have had but I think you should go to the docs this could be a one time thing but its better safe than sorry

It could be an infection. You should go see a doctor to be safe.

Seeing blood in your urine can cause more than a little anxiety. Yet blood in urine — known medically as hematuria — isn't always a matter for concern. Strenuous exercise can cause blood in urine, for instance. So can a number of common drugs, including aspirin. But urinary bleeding can also indicate a serious disorder.

There are two types of blood in urine. Blood that you can see is called gross hematuria. Urinary blood that's visible only under a microscope is known as microscopic hematuria and is found when your doctor tests your urine. Either way, it's important to determine the reason for the bleeding.

Treatment depends on the underlying cause. Blood in urine caused by exercise usually goes away on its own within one or two days, but other problems often require medical care.

I read somewhere (now saying this in simple terms) That if you bleed why you pee and have just recovered from an ilness or have done/taken meds that if you pee blood it can be normal, but only if it is a few times and is not frequent over a certian ammount of time, that its more or less safe.

Well, the part about feeling like you have to pee all the time sounds like a yeast infection- or jock itch for guys I think? I'm not sure about the blood- but like others said, you should probably go see a doctor about it.

Well it's been 36 hours now, and no change. I still feel like I need to pee, and there are still spots of blood there. I'm drinking a lot to see if i can flush it out. i want to the doctors to be a last resort because it means getting my mum to take me, and it'll be really embarrassing telling her.

A couple of days ago I played 2 hours of intense rugby practice. So i don't know if that has an effect.

Thanks for all of your answers. xx

Sounds like you have a UTI, kiddo. Yes, men get these too (All though, I don't think as often as women do). People will usually get them at least ONCE in their life. It's caused from germs getting inside your urinary tract from any type of way. They can get there from touching the opening with dirty hands, usually. Also, having intercourse with a girl who has an infection leaves you at a big risk for one.

Go to the doctor. Explain your symptoms. Blood in urine is probably from the infection. They'll prescribe you antibiotics.

I'm no doctor. I'm taking a wild guess. But you need to go to the doctor, ASAP :P

Dude, I am sorry, you are 16, almost an adult, you need to SUCK IT UP and tell her. She is your mom, she should jump into the momma bear mode and say "okay bud, time to go to the doctor" not "awwww, poor lil'baby."

This is YOUR BODY, she has seen you at your worse and as you get older you need to take things into consideration ,this is one of them, tell her, NOW!!

This could have something to do with your kidneys, or it could be a UTI (as LoveLikeWinter explained). Tell your parents and go to the doctor. Don't be embarrassed it happens to the best of us.
