There is this girl I want to take to homecoming. The other day I asked her if she was going, because I wasn't sure if she was already going with someone else. Turns out she said "I don't know, no ones asked me yet im gonna play it by ear" is that a sign that I should ask her or stay friends. I just don't want to ask her and mess our friendship up is she says no. Please help thanks so much in advanced!

Ask her. Don't worry about messing up a friendship. If she says no, then back off.
and yes, she's hinting at "Ask me"

Doooo it, what if you don't and then she goes with someone else and you never get together? My point is you should try.

Go as friends? Why can't you just do that?

Ask her to go with you as a friend. That way you won't mess up your friendship

This is what I did for the Freshman dance, and it worked out great. Ask her.

Thanks guys so much, I'm going to ask her to go as friends. It won't hurt and probably will be a splendid time thanks again. Cheers :)

If you ask her out as a friend it ruins all opportunity you have to be anything more than a friend in the future. It's very unlikely that you'll ever evolve past it if you don't act now.
Just remember that.
Best wishes and good luck.

Ask her, I built up the courage to do it and it worked out for me. Give it a shot and you might be happy with the outcome :)
