I caused my boyfriend to self harm, and its crushing me

I stopped sh, bout a month and a half ago, its been going fine. Since I hurt my boyfriend (for reasons that are complicated and incredibly terrible of me :S) but, well he just told me he sh, cause he needed to punish himself, and he said he could again.... And I dont know how long i can stay non self harming right now :S xxxxxx

It's not your fault. He probably doesn't blame you, and you shouldn't either, as it'll just make you feel bad, which means it would be harder for you to help him.

If you are still struggling, you could focus on helping your bf stop like you did. That might make you feel better and stop him hurting himself: two birds, with one stone :)

You can stay clean for as long as you resolve to. You cannot MAKE anyone do anything, ultimately the choice was his. Set an example and tell him the path he's heading down is a detour with no outlet.

It was NOT your fault. He made the conscious decision to do it. You didn't say to yourself, "hey, I'm going to make him self harm." He decided to do it.

And don't cut yourself right now because of that, no matter how tempting it is. Or else he'll feel the same guilt thinking he made you cut.
