Chatting suggestion

maybe someone had a suggestion like mine but i think it would be cool if vt had a chatting sidebar. kinda like facebooks, but showing every member who was online. then be able to chat instead of going to the chatroom itself.

also, ive been a member on vt for like more than 3 years honestly. and a lot of the rules have changed. for example. ive seen that many members have gotten banned in a quick snap nowadays. why have all the rules changed very dramatically, well to me it sounds dramatic?

The reason why VT will not have this is because it would be hard to monitor the chat of so many people, this is why we have 2 chat rooms one from IRC and the Java chat

I've been here for a similar length of time, and often you might not realise why people get banned because it's not made public information, but the banning guidelines aren't really any stricter than they were before. The truth might just be that there are more trolls, spam bots and cammers now than there were when the site was smaller.

honestly, I kind of like the chat Facebook has, but it's only a private chat, and the chat room we have right now is good enough. we don't need this

If we had a private chat we would have to have Mods patrolling them the same way we do VMs. People would use and abuse it for cyber sex and things that we don't condone. There's enough of that attemping to go on in PM.

It's really not necessary in my opinion. There's already 2 (?) chats, and if you want to send it directly to someone, then we have VM and PM.
This isn't a social network.
