iPod touch 2g issues

okay i have a 8 gig 2g ipod touch and the power button isnt working when i plug it in it will charge but i cant turn it on any idea of something i could do

2gb or 2nd gen?

Honestly if it just won't power off (you need to HOLD the power/lock button) then... that's not a big deal, it's usually easier and saves battery life if you let it go to sleep/idle.

If you meant the home button in the middle (The button that looks like a circle with a square in it), it might need cleaned, use rubbing alcohol. Or it might just be time to upgrade

8 gig 2nd gen and i know how to turn it off i cant power it the power button isnt working the home button does my computer reads it and it will charge and when i press the home button it will show me how charged it is but the power button isnt working i cant turn it on

the battery charges it will eventually get to the green battery
