Tampons for the first time?

Hi. I'm 13 years old and started my periods last December. I have used pads up till now. I do a lot of swimming, so it is a nuisance. I know I should start using tampons, but I am really scared it will hurt or I will break my hymen. please answer these questions and post some personal comments on my situation too:
How old were you when you first used a tampon?
Did it hurt?
Was it hard to put it?
Did it hurt taking it out?
Please help me xx

Well.. You should get the smallest possible model and it's probably going to be easier if you start to try them the day(s) you bleed most. And if you put them in far enough, you wont feel it.

If you're starting your period I really suggest not to use tampons yet. They are really uncomfortable and they hurt a lot, but that depends, some girls think they're better than pads but most girls prefer pads.

When I first started using tampons, it did hurt. Not a LOT but there was a sting. No, it wasn't hard to put it in, you just push it up in there. You might hesitate because it hurts, but other than that, you should be fine. And no, it didn't hurt taking it out, it just felt like a weird pressure, then I felt relieved. ^_^

It's rare for it to break your hymen, but if it does, it's not a big deal. You won't notice it bleeding (obviously) and whenever you have sex for the first time there will be no blood, yay!

Oh, and I was 13 when I used my first tampon, about 6 months after I got my period for the first time :)

Did it hurt? only the first time and it was very little. more like a light mosquito bite.
Was it hard to put it in? Not at all. Just follow the directions inside the box. Put it in at an angle. That's the key thing. ANGLE.
Did it hurt taking it out? Yeah, but that's only because i didnt know that you have to pull it out at an ANGLE too. It was fine once i figured that out.
Oh and it won't break your hymen at all.
