Guilt

When I cut, I feel really selfish. Like, I'm wallowing in my pain, loneliness, and self-hatred when there are people out there who have it so much worse than me.

I know that what I'm going through counts, but I can't help but feel selfish. Why can't I be happy with my life? So many people would probably love to trade places with me.

Does anyone else ever feel like this?

Well, I believe many people who SH already know something is wrong...

Megan, that is actually a normal feeling for someone who SH. I know I've seen countless posts saying the same thing "I shouldn't feel/do this, others have it worse". Hell, I feel like this almost any time I hurt myself. You'll probably never be alone when it comes to these thoughts. Most of us think alike.

I agree. I think everyone feels bad, especially if you've told someone, or you tell yourself you're going to stop.

I don't think you should get too stressed over the guilt though, because that might put you back in the place where you wanna cut, which would make you feel worse, so in the end you're back where you started and this would be bad.

Don't worry, you will make it through this, whether it is instant or takes a while, you will :)
