I just wanted to post something that I came up with, in the wake of more than 30 people calling me ignorant online because of my beliefs.
"Ignorance is defined as the lack of knowledge in a subject.
Opinion is defined as one's belief.
There is a major difference between being ignorant and having an opinion I can stand up for."
I have some other quotes from me I kind of want to include in there as well.
"Life's greatest mystery is life it's self."
"Life is not a movie, the good guys don't always win."

Don't know what your beliefs are, but just because they're your beliefs, doesn't make them 'not ignorant'.

Beliefs can be ignorant. For instance, if I believed the earth was flat, I would be ignorant in regards to cosmology.

Exactly. But also, there are beliefs that we cannot prove are correct or incorrect, so no one should be "ignorent" for that.

Plenty of beliefs can be proven correct or incorrect. What have people called you ignorant over, anyway?

What if it is your belief that "ignorant" is spelled "ignorent?" :D
If I believed in unicorns and preached about how you cannot disprove them to me, would that not be ignorant?

As a Wiccan, most people think I believe in a load of shit. I touch trees and talk to them and my friends think I'm on crack. I, on the other hand think they're completely ignorant as trees have energies. They think I'm ignorant cause I don't realize trees are just "trees". So yes, ignorance can be an opinion. I think my father's an ignorant asshole. He thinks I'm an ignorant child.
And Unicorns are real :D like Faeries! What did people call you ignorant for anyway?

What does that have to do with ignorance?

I think your beliefs show you're ignorant in regards to what constitutes conversation and energy.

Doesn't mean they can't exist universally.

I kinda don't stand on the religion line even though I am part of a religion but again I think ignorance of ones religion is again shoving it in someones face, Its like core school religion we get it shoved in our faces.....One can say there are ignorant beliefs and others will not
For example I am a wiccan, but again people of a Muslim fate will think I am ignorant because I am not a part of there religion.
People now a-days show ignorance in everything

Well I think we have different definitions for conversation and energy. Glucose + Oxygen = Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy
Potential energy, capacity for physical and mental activity blabla. I know. I'm not stupid. I just can't call it anything else. Energy exists in several forms such as heat, kinetic or mechanical energy, light, potential energy, electrical, or other forms. So I guess my definition will just fall into the other forms category.
If I tried to explain, I'd end up writing a book and going off topic. Which I think I already have.
Conversation. The spoken exchange of thoughts, opinions, and feelings; talk.
Oh yeah you're right. I obviously got my English messed up. I'm Chinese, okay? I'm just kidding. I didn't mean it literally.
Ah and that leads me back to my point. Ignorance lies in the eyes of the beholder. You don't understand me so I guess I'm ignorant. But I understand myself so I guess I'm not. I may think you're ignorant. Get a Wiccan and they'll interpret it differently, as will a sportsperson or an atheist.

In true science, nothing is incorrect or correct. The universe is not that simple. Maybe in the future, we can reduce everything down to mathematics (the only subject where there is truly a "right" and "wrong"). For all we know, the moon or the sun might not exist. Ignorance exists depending on multiple factors. For example, a layman's ignorance may simply be lack of regard for common thought or common sentiment with humanity while a professional ignorance would be something like arguing that water freezes at 20 Celsius. It really depends on why or what. But in essence, nothing is true or false. This is an abstract concept that is purely mathematical.
