View Full Version : Guys Shaving Their Legs

I want to shave my legs but I am concerned with a couple things. How does it feel after you shave the first time and how does it look? I want to shave my legs because I'm tired of them being so hairy but I'm concerned with the above. Some guys do at my school just to do it, so I don't really care if people say it's gay or not. Have you ever shaved your legs? How was it and would you recommend it?

I never have, Ive shaved my pubes and thats itchy, so Im assuming the legs wouldnt be as bad. I wish i could, but I would worry what others would think. I think it looks better, and would be more comfortable, but I will have to wait until i am asked to shave for swimming.

Sorry, I disagree. I think its ignornant to say that shaving your legs makes you gay. Because all of the sudden, your leg hair is gone it changes your sexuality and when it grows back you're straight again? Sorry, that makes no sense. I think the way teenagers call everything that goes against popular practice or belief gay is very ignorant. --Not to start an arguement or anything, but I think its wrong to associate shaving your legs with homosexuality. I know many guys that shave their legs and are definitely not gay. Who cares anyway? You are you and you should do whatever the hell you want regardless of what people think about you. So, thank you for that. That wasn't the reason as to why I posted this thread.
Yeah, I'm worried that it will become a nuisance having to shave frequently. But, its worth a shot right.

Awesome answer and response. How true...how many people are "labeled" something because it goes against the "norm"? Thanks for stating the obvious !!!

Well once you start shaving you will have to do it ocasionally if you want them to remain like that, does it really bother that much as to want to shave them?

If you shave them because you don't like them being hairy then you'll have to make it an everyday thing because when you shave it grows back thicker and longer. I done it a few times when I was younger, I didn't like them bald, I prefer them hairy.

been shaving my legs for about 3 years now, no regrets whatsoever. Feels good after you shave them, like a cool breeze kind of feeling. I think some people's first time might get the occasional itching, but i never got it despite it being the first time. And the post about it being only for swimmers, that is just being close-minded. I know a lot of swimmers who dont shave their legs, and they are from top D1 high schools, swimming in competitions. I'm not gay, but me and a lot of my friends shave our legs, and nobody looks at us and thinks we're gay. I do it for appearance purposes, mainly because i like the feel of smooth skin, and for physical purposes because i play football and getting your leg hair pulled by your pants is never fun. Also, i always get compliments from girls saying that they find it sexy and cute when i shave my legs because it shows to them that i like to take care of my body, and the occasional rubbing-of-the-leg because i guess some girls like feeling a guys legs and feeling bare skin.
No it doesn't.
and in response to this, yes it does. When you first shave your leg hair, it will always grow back more thick and a lot longer if you dont regularly maintain shaving. From personal experience, i can tell anyone who is thinking about shaving their legs, that once you start shaving, it will be a tedious job, but the outcome is worth it if you like your legs shaved.

I've done it once, and it was kind of a hassle. My legs aren't really super hairy, so I doubt I will shave them again soon.

"No. Shaving hair doesn't change its thickness or color. The color, location, thickness and length of hair on your body mainly depend on genetics and hormones. After you shave body hair, it may feel coarse or "stubbly" for a time as it grows out. During this phase, it may be more noticeable — and may appear darker or thicker. But it's not."

Wow.. That just totally enlightened me. NOT!! haha to basically all of sane society these days. NO str8 guy shaves his legs. There is first of all no reason too! I swim and I dont even shave my legs.! In fact I ask the gay guys at school and they said somewhere around the lines of "Im gay NOT a girl!!" So mainly I should clarify. Only swimmers and girls shave their legs.! Ignorant it may be, but its the truth and I tend not to sugar coat anything! any more concern?

I do it because I'm like you. I don't like hairy legs... Well, on me... And they do feel kinda weird after the first couple of weeks of first shaving, but other than that and being time-consuming, I would recommend it of you want to.

Same here, even though I dont have leg hair, I still will shave it when it grows. I like having no hair on my legs and arms, Im just used to it.

Just because a guy shaves thier legs doesnt mean he is gay. What about dudes who have no hair on thier legs yet? Are they naturally gay? Lolno. And i dont like the fact that a post somewhere above said that no guy shaves thier legs. Umm, have you did a world wide poll on guys asking if they shave thier legs? No sir you havent.

Me and 4 of my friends decided to shave a triangle onto one of our legs, it stood out obviously. I don't know why we did it, just for the fun of it i guess. It was a "you had to be there" type of moment. Anyways, i wouldn't shave my legs, because it'll get annoying to shave your legs constantly, AND the hair will grow back thicker every shave.

I see swimmers doing it and other guys who aren't. I don't think it is that big of a deal if you do or don't. I don't have any leg hair to begin with and my friends don't think I am gay.

i don't shave my legs yet because i don't have hair but when i begin growing hair i will shave. i wouldn't like the feeling of having hair on my legs so i will shave. plus i do gymnastics, swimming, soccer and basketball so my legs will look and feel good

Holy crap you guys.
Gay means you're sexually attracted to members of the same sex. Nothing else.
If you shave your legs, it means your legs are shaved. Some people prefer to have legs that are shaved, others don't. Why in the fuck would shaving your legs have anything to do with your sexuality.

well im kinda gay and i want to shave my legs but the two have no association with each other other than the fact that i dont find hairy guys attractive and i want myself to be what i think is attractive

Personally, I shave mine. It requires a lot of upkeep but I find it's quite worth it. Things feel very strange for a little after you shave for the first time though, which caught me off guard. :3

i used to shave my legs when i first got leg hair cuz i got it at 12 and was the only guy in 6th grade with hairy legs, i mean its kinda a pain, if you have dark hair, you pretty much have to shave everyday, leg stubble is itchy and looks pretty nasty, its a lot of work to keep up, but in all honesty its easier to leave it because people really dont make a big deal about leg hair, its just kina expected once a guy hits a certain age.

To say that a boy who shaves his legs is gay is ignorant. It's a matter of personal preference. To say that shaving hair makes it grow back longer or thicker or darker is to perpetuate an old wive's tale. If shaving actually causes that why don't all adult men have faces like werewolves?

February 26th, 2013, 04:35 AM
nah, I really wouldnt do that. I have several friends who shave but it looks just stupid when we're showering. plus they told me it is itchy as hell and requires maintenance.
