A lot of people complain that I have the worst bad breath ever. I brush my teeth 3 times a day. Hell, I even take my toothbrush and toothpaste to school and brush up there after lunch. I drink a lot of water and I chew a lot of Monty gum. My thing is is I have a weakness for chicken and BBQ sauce so my friend has said that the BBQ sauce can be a major factor. I have been cutting down on the BBQ sauce since then, but I still get complaints. Please help! What can I do?????

have you talked to a professional about it? They can probably help more than anyone here.

Did you know that 90% of bad breath comes from the bacteria on your tongue? Try scrubbing it or something... >.> Or you know... get the orabrush.

Also a good mouthwash could help.

Also include more fruit in your diet and less chicken in the BBQ sauce will help
Also chewing gum and over brushing and eating mints can really damage your gums tounge and in general your mouth.
I suggest if it is really bad speak to someone like a mouth specilist or a dentist or doctor

Can you justify this with some proof?

It could be a bit of decay, you'd best check with your dentist to make sure its not.

one thing i can think of that comes to mind is tonsil stones. To much calcium builds up and it sticks in between your tonsils and it hardens into these small cheese-like stones that stink and give off bad breath. I had it when i was 13 while it was still in its early stages, and i got the tonsil stones removed and also got my tonsils removed so it never came back again. But just go in and check with your doctor just to make sure what exactly it is.

To be completly sure check out your dentist if you can.
However I would just say chew some flavored gum. Here I will let webmd explain for me
"When you chew gum it makes you salivate, and the more saliva you have in your mouth the fewer bacteria you have. It not only mechanically washes bacteria out, but we have antiseptic and enzymes in our saliva that kill bacteria," says Wolner(a dentist in private practice in New York City).
He goes on to say the problem could be caused by dehydration so if you don't drink a lot of water try doing that (maybe drinking two or three bottles a day) and see if that helps.

Sometimes, the smell is not necessarily coming from the buccal cavity, but from inside your stomach or colon.

Well over brushing can cause your gums to bleed and reduce and depending on what mints you use can depend on sugar whitch can cause tooth decay and other problems.
anyway why did you ask if I can justify this with some proof when if you do google searches it can tell you that chewing too much gum and eating too many mints are not good for you.

Try different kinds of gum. Actually, cinnamon gum is said to be the best for getting rid of bad breath. Use mouthwash and floss, added on to brushing your teeth regularly like you're doing. Make sure to brush your tongue, too.
If all still doesn't work, consult a doctor. You might have tonsillitis, bad breath has been known to be a symptom.

I would consult a dentist during your next cleaning. He may be able to provide the best advice and path forward. He may be able to actually prescribe you some dental wash. Good Luck
