Okay so lately i got a new bf and he is fantastic beyond belief. Lately he has been telling me about his life and honestly it didnt affect me in anyway but it seems like he way more vulnerable. he isnt going to like freak out on me because now he trusted me with stuff he NEVER told anyone before. he even cried in front of me which i suspect he never did before so im wondering if his vulnerability will bring us closer or make him more angry

Someone opening up to you like that, especially with things the haven't told anyone else is a HUGE sign of trust. That should only bring you closer.

It does depend on which direction the relationship is heading, assuming everything is well, such mutual trust is excellent.

But we always have to understand, there are 2 sides to everything. If things start to get sour, he would and likely be the first to blame it on you. As he has likely poured out his darkest secrets to you.

In general, when you are angry with a person, everything that person does is generally wrong in your eyes, vice versa.

Hence his vulnerability can come in multiple flavours, it could be very constructive as far as the relationship is going well, but destructive if its going on a long hike.
Its not "or" but an "and" ;like a package deal, juggle it wisely and things would be fine.

im like this too, but i consider it a trust issue. once i find someone how seems even a little bit trust worthy, i pour my heart out and then when i dont talk to them anymore, i stress out really badly about if they are going to tell people my secrets or not
