I'm straight edge. If you don't know, that means I don't smoke, drink, or get high. It's pretty health and what not.

I've only been drunk once, and that was only a small buzz. Then I decided to become straight edge. The reason I decided to is because of Chris Motionless, aka Chris Cerulli, lead singer of Motionless In White. He's also straight edge, and he's an amazing dude. Chris got me thinking about what it means, and so i decided to become straight edge. Just thought I'd share this.

I do know the history, and I'm glad you're straight edge too. Chris just gave me the knowledge that something like this existed, and I'm not like this only because of him.

I find straight edge to be quite dumb and agree with everything my friend says in the quote and link. I don't really want to go talking much on this subject though, because it annoys and bores me to death, just like every other scene in the world.

I don't get the straight edge thing though. Do you get some kind of membership card and uniform if you take the extra step and call yourself "straight edge?" Is there a meeting with free coffee?

It's your body, do whatever the hell you want with it. Just don't expect us to shower you with praise when you flaunt membership in some stupid group of people who think they are better than everyone else just because they don't enjoy themselves like others chose to. Wow, haven't been on the forum in a while and I come back to all these negative nancy types. Why is everyone hating on this kid? He's happy that he made the decision, so let him be happy. He's not one of the obnoxious no-one-should-do-drugs-cause-they'll-kill-you-and-God-will-hate-you-for-it posters. He's just sharing his decision with the forum.

Now that that's out of the way. OP, you're in for a rough ride. Not only as far as criticism from others, but personal temptation. You're only 15. There's a long road ahead of you full of stress, emotion, and a shit ton of temptation that you'll never see coming. Caffeine? It's a drug. Have fun stayin away from that one. Same with alcohol - the more stressful your school week gets, the more fun you'll want to have on the weekend.

No, coffee has a drug called caffeine in it, they drink water or milk. Hopefully no one spiked it though.

see, here's the problem. no one cares that you (nor anyone else) are not impressed. if you were ONLY unimpressed and felt no other emotion, you wouldn't take the time write a post against the OP. So obviously there was a bit more feeling involved.

Like I (hope I) conveyed in my other post, I don't agree with the OP's choice. It's a difficult one; I highly doubt he'll remain straight edge. But I refuse to make a post bashing him for his efforts, because he 1) didn't bash those of us who choose to do drugs and 2) didn't sound overly self-righteous about his decision. Note that ignorance is not self-righteousness, though the former can definitely influence the latter.

Congrats to the OP for being straight edge, but idk why everyone is flaming him. He made a choice to resist the temptations at an early age, good for him. But to the OP, your young and still growing. When you get older, you will eventually put yourself to the test to see if you really want to continue being straight edge. But for now, congrats on living drug free.

When you get older, you will eventually put yourself to the test to see if you really want to continue being straight edge. But for now, congrats on living drug free.

This, it's his choice, I don't see that he's saying he's better than anyone else (although I only briefly scanned it, so correct me if I'm wrong). He has made a good choice to protect his health, and he wants to see if anyone else has made this choice.

(Still, no tea, coffee, chocolate etc. would be too much)
