Hi, I am not a hacker or whatsoever.
Just curious if anyone knows how to use a Trojan Horse usefully.
From what i know, it is not actually a virus or worm.
Thanks

probably not legal to be posting here since i'm pretty sure trojan horses are a federal offense if found in your possession and ready to distribute since they can cause some serious damage like gaining important banking information. But until we get a Yes or No from a mod that we can discuss this, i will have to retain my answer until then, sorry.

They are illegal. They have use if you know what your doing with them but from you saying they arn't a 'virus or worm' i'd say you wouldent find them of any use.

Here is the WIKI on Trojan Horse....

This should help explain a little about them

I'm going to allow this thread so long as it stays toward educating about trojans.
The moment this thread starts even hinting at promoting malicious or illegal use it will be closed.

Gah I hate those things, we had a backdoor.Trojan32 on our old XP machine that took ages to remove, (like 2 months) thanks to Norton 2005.
Please excuse the following rambling, I like to talk about things I dislike and this is one of them. Feel free to ignore the rest of this post, though if you sit through it you might get a cookie.
I think it's actually interesting how they work, it's not fun when you get stuck with it though. My old Win7 machine got a couple of Trojans too, you really can't get a virus unless you are a) an idiot or b) downloading illegal stuffs :x.
I still have hotbar crap on there that won't uninstall, and windows is screwed up too, everyday I boot it up I get an error stating LXE_16.dll is missing or something. I've had that error for a good year or so, annoying.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure backdoors makes RAT's access easier, but when theres a RAT or a keylogger, you're <expletive>. Deleting the proper winlogon.exe helps disable keyloggers.
Wait, how the hell am I on this topic anyway? Rambling? Wrong section. :(
Thanks for reading, survivors get a cookie.

I've made one before and no, I didn't release it and never will. Just wanted to see how hard it would be to beat security. A Trojan horse can be a virus or a worm but it would be a virus/worm that disguises itself as another program and usually latches on to legitimate programs in your system making getting rid of them difficult and risky. If you have any questions about theory or whatever just post. But no I will not tell you really how to make one or beat specific security in these posts.

I've never written a Trojan, but we got one 2 years ago. Fortunately, my dad had a backup, so he just put that one back in. But it was Windows XP. 'Nuff said :P

I've used them before in my workplace to show vulnerabilities to my boss, this was with permission of course.

Trojan Horses are bad. nuff' said. :)
If u want to prevent from being infected with maculaniuos software, I would suggest using Mcaffee. good for the most part. I use Emisoft, though it has more protection, it may get in your way if you don't know how to use it.
when I think of Trojans, I think of, well, the TROJAN war. maculaniuos software of some sort is disquised as something that is good and once inside, does catostrophic damage.
one thing I can imidiatly think of is those pop ups that say you have won something, or that u have a virus and to click it to get rid of it when it actually is a trap
if u accidentally click it u could press Alt + F4 to close it. or if it doesn't work Ctrl + Alt + Delete start up task manager and end processes. if all fails, unpulg Internet and hard shut-down the computer (unplug the computer from the outlet)

I had a Trojan on my computer a few years ago. Worked my butt off to find and remove it on my own. I'm going to say there are no good uses for Trojans except maybe showing people how you can get really screwed when you aren't careful on the internet.

Trojans CAN be very bad, they almost always are.
That's one of the reasons which made me buy a Mac. Viruses/spyware/trojans are so rare on a Mac they barely exist.

They're so rare Apple employees deny the big name ones exist until they get enough pressure to release a patch. What you don't know wont hurt you according to them

You know, I know this steak doesn't exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious. After nine years, you know what I realize?
Ignorance is bliss.
Guess where I got that from.
