i guess skrillex and mainly dubstep in general is more of an acquired taste to some people. I'm more open to all types of music so i can listen to dubstep and be fine with it. Even though i like skrillex, i still think other producers are a lot better then him imo.

A few things about that: When does "chick" say "Skrillex?" Besides, she broke an old record at cup-stacking*. How does a dying cat sound like this? No song has to have meaningful lyrics. Look at Beethoven or just... songs without lyrics. The whole thing is not just Auto-Tune. Auto-Tune is a Vocoder. Many, many songs use Vocoders. He also uses physical equipment like mixers and such.

damn, looks like people seriously hate skrillex. Or is it dubstep in general? I think the first time i heard skrillex and well dubstep was at a house party in which my friend was really big into raves, house music, and dubstep. It was probably the weirdest thing i ever experienced, being right next to some big ass speakers with almost 100 other people in a basement, and everyone just moving and dancing to the music, even though i had no idea wtf was going on. But after a few more songs, it kinda grew onto me with the massive drops and pounding bass.

But just kidding... It's an acquired taste. You can't be narrow-minded with music. The song has a melodic sound to it, but rhythms and beats mixed in with it. I don't listen to skrillex as much anymore since listening to Rusko. But I don't mind it. (I'm not necessarily a dub step junkie, but i do like my bass)

If you listen closely, he recycles his beats a lot, his bass drops as well. He just changes the tone, pitch and speed.

Dubstep is so overrated!!! Artists like pendulum, deadmau5, and daft punk are what define electronic music for me. I like music that flows and has a pounding beat. And I LOVE huge amounts of bass! Not a big fan of unorganized, highly compressed, blaring frequencies.
