I've had some people ask me how I feel about gays. I tell them that I don't feel it's right and that gay marriage shouldn't be legal. They then tell me that I am taking away people's rights and that I am close-minded.

I don't really know what to think about this. I need some advice.

Uhh... can you explain WHY you think that about gay people? Because... um... yeah that IS taking away people's rights... (Not you, but that opinion, if you get what I mean)

Well, I'm guessing who has ever raised you is probably homophobic (if not you can correct me) Why should it be illegal for two people who love each other to not be allowed to be together? You don't have to think of two people of the same sex going their thing. Just see it as two people loving each other. Hopefully you can see that two people of the same sex being together isn't wrong.

Maybe try taking a class that talks about things like this or join a club that does.

I pretty much agree with what the other posters have said.
I don't see anything wrong with two men liking each other. You're not necessarily 'closed minded', but that is taking away people's rights, because people should be able to love any sex they wish.

You're not alone with thinking it should be illegal though.. There are people out there who think the way you do, you just need to find them.

I think two men loving each other is not seen as normal as a man and a woman loving each other....but why shouldn't they allowed to live so?!

I think that it's just as normal as a man and a woman getting married... everyone should have a right to marry who they want

It's your opinion. However you should ask the following questions: 'Are they doing anything wrong?', 'Do they affect society badly in some way?', 'Is their love really hurting anyone?' 'Why do I feel it's not right?'. Start from there and see if it helps you understand your position better.
