i was in social stidies today, and me and my friend louise were sitting togeter. and when he raised his hand to answer a question, his sleeve from his jacket slid down, and i just waned to cry, cause what i saw was horrible. he had cut marks through out his entire wrist and arm. i asked him what happened, and he told me,without hesitation, that he was a cutter. i asked him why he did it,and he said its because his mom is too busy with her 17 boy friends, aka, louises step dads, to care about him.and so one day,he decided to get her attention by cutting himselfe once. but when she saw it,she pushed him down, and told him he was a sick fuck. and hes only 12.a year younger than me. but it made him mad,so he wanted to cut more and more.and now,he gers a pencil sharpener blade, and just quickly slices through his arm. in a way of saying "help me mom",to "see what youv'e done."any counselors you can name, please tell me so he can get help. his arm looks like its been through a shredder.

I hate to say it, but there's not too much you can do until he's ready to get help. When he's ready, he can talk to a professional about it.
You can help by just being there for him, though. Trust me, sometimes all some of us self harmers want is someone to talk to in real life. Don't force him to talk, but let him know you'll be there if he ever needs to. Be a good friend, it'll probably help him even if he doesn't admit it.

agreed^
Make sure you never give up on him because he feels that his family has given up on him

Try and get him to tell a trusted adult like a teacher or the school nurse maybe. Most importantly, support him show him you're there for him. I bet he really needs a friend right now. I really hope he gets out of this soon.
Sweety you cant name counsellors because there are so many, all in different areas, specializing in different things. There are different ones depending where you live. So the best thing to do is for him to tell a doctor, who will want to refer him a child pyschiatrist or a counsellor. Of course all of this involves his Mum helping, driving him to counselling sessions. So she will find out eventually.

Be there for him... He needs a good friend to help and comfort him
Ask for a professional help and tell him that cutting himself will gain nothing

my friend needs help, and he wants help.
If he wants help as you said, then get an adult. Tell anyone. School counselor parent, close adult friend, anyone.
If he doesn't want help, there's not really much you can do, except what others said.
And don't leave him, stay by his side and support him as much as you can.

he just doesent know where to get help, though. if he tells our schools counselor, she call his mom,and god knows what will happen. i talked to an aunt of his,and she called a counselor. :] he will finally get the help he needs, and wants. but,his mom found out,and smacked him in the face. he did the only thing he could do. run and tell an officer. shes has a court trial on tuesday, october.
