Only got half day today then got to see a nurse at the hospital so she can take blood out of me because of a blood test. They got enough blood whilst I was in hospital. They even made a 'mistake' once and had to do it again. I mean, I've got a phobia of needles. All they do is give me some more each time! :'(
Anyway to get rid of that phobia just for today or something so I can just go in and go out? I hate the nurses! I wanted there to be an earthquake today so I didn't have to go but none existed.

You will just have to get over it in time, it just somehting that comes with time, I was terrified of shots until I had to receive two shots every week for allergies, I just got used to it.
If this is to become a normal thing then you will just get used to it with time.

It hurts because my arm is fucked up. =/ There is only certain area's in my arm they can do it in and when they stuff up oh shit! It hurts majorly.
And it's a blood test to check my diabetes. So no won't be a regular thing I don't think. Well at least I hope not.

Then ask if they can go some place else, a different are, hand vein? I have even drawn on a foot, you get it where you can get them.

It didn't go as bad as I thought but that's could be because I'm getting used to needles because of the insulin I do morning and night.
Thing is though she could barely get any blood from my arm. It's like I have barely any blood in my arms. O.o But my arms are still working and operating and stuff as usual. It's very weird.

Then next time ask the nurse if you can warm the site before he or she draws, by warming the site it will make the blood vessels enlarge and increase the bloodflow making a routine ventipuncture or a winged infusion set be performed easier.

I am not as old as you, so still get the "freeze spray" put on the back of the hand for them to take my blood :yeah:
Never thought it would be a problem to you, taking insulin 2 x daily, I am getting used to needles now I inject 3 x daily.

I think you would get rid of your phobia if you took needles on a regular basis, although I wouldn't say that would be a smart thing to do unless you have an illness or something :P
My phobia of needles got away over the years, now I don't worry about them.

Needles suck. But the nurses are only there for you buddy... much as I hated it, I complied when my dentist injected anesthetic into the back of my mouth while I watched in horror.
