I don't think I have strep. It resembles what strep looks like, but my tonsils are only slightly swollen. They're usually swollen slightly all the time because I get really bad tonsil stones. Anyway, I don't have a fever, but I've been kind of sick the past few days.
I threw up yesterday at 3 am, so maybe my throat is just irritated/even burned by my stomach acid? The thing is, though, my tonsils ache. They don't hurt like a sore throat would, but they just ache. I don't want to go to the doctor yet to see if it goes away, but has anyone ever had something like this?

I suffer from this about 88% of the year. My tonsils are constantly swollen and the size of golf balls and they get inflamed very easily.
White patches are usually caused by some sort of an infection. It could most likely be strep. I know you say it can't be but in all honesty, you aren't a doctor, and strep can have different symptoms at different times! It could possibly be a lesser form of strep with less symptoms.
It could also be Mono, which causes white patches as well. Or tonsillitis. Or. Well. A sexually transmitted disease (Which I doubt 100% for you!).
Go see a doctor if it doesn't go away. They might require antibiotics. Mine usually go away without a doctor. Plus, it would cost me millions to get every time I get them! It's best if you do (:

Or you could just get them removed, problem solved.
