My computer has gotten some scrips errors the last 2 times I've logged in...Only on VT! I can't access the shoutbox (only a loading message), and when I click on Qlinks/UserCP, my page refreshes and I go to my actual UserCP (respectively), and doesn't give me a pull down list.

I'm wondering if there's any way for this to go away?

Are there any error messages that come up? Anything change since you were last able to get onto the forums properly?

None at all, except for the little :!: sign in the corner of my screen. Multi quotes and quick reply buttons don't work either. I've changed the style chooser from the UserCP and it appears in all the skins.

This happens in Avant and IE7. Although in IE7 the icon is a red shield, and it basically says the same thing as the :!: in Avant.

If it's happening in both browsers, then you can be pretty certain that the cause is from IE. Something must have been changed in it.

What is the script error (what error message)?

Avant says there's a total of 23 script errors. Most of them are 'object expected', but some of them say "'AJAX_Compatible' is undefined".

The first one just says '} expected'.
And everything is running slow right now, but it's probably because our server is busy or something.

Have you tried updating your PC? And on top of that, updating your Java Runtime?

Yes, I've updated everything and the problem is still there. I just downloaded and 'installed' Java Update 11 but the online varification says I didn't. Also, One of the things that I copied and put into my start menu (IE 7) had 'No Add-ons' right next to it. Could that have any factor?

Yeah, I think if you use the "IE7 no add ons" it doesn't use any of the java plugins or any other kind of extensions. You need to use the standard IE for it to work.

If you go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and click on IE explorer it should take you to the standard IE.

Just tried that, and it didn't work :-/
Thanks though, I really appreciate the help.

Can you be a little more specific on what exactly didn't work?

Going to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and clicking on IE explorer <--

Well is there any IE explorer icon on your desktop or start menu that doesn't say "no add ons"?

Yup. The only one that says that is on my start menu (not program files --> ie)

OK close out IE and open IE with one that doesn't say "no add ons."

Already tried that, didn't work. And I don't run on IE as my primary browser. I use Avant.

Edit: It all works now!! That's strange O_o

All I can say is think about what might have changed. A computer doesn't react differently just because it wants to. Some condition had to be different.

Also, keep a note on Avant Browser's Script blocking. It's very handy, but if you have it enabled, the cool AJAX features (popup menus, quick reply, multiquote, etc.) won't work. You can check it either in the Options or by glancing at the Tools menu section (near the bottom).

Ok I'll keep an eye on that. Thanks.
