well, nothing else to do but try your best not to do it. I used to have to be obsessed with even colours. When I thought of a colour, I had to keep "painting" over it until it was even. Of course, it never was "perfect" enough for me so I would sit there for an hour trying to get my colour thoughts even. Which is pretty dumb.

It gets easier with practice. Habits are hard to break but once you do, it's a lot easier. You just gotta keep teaching yourself even if you relapse. Try your hardest not to do it. You can beat this :)

OMIGODIDOTHATTOOWHATTHEHECK!
I do the same thing! Everyone comments on it, it's like an itch (not really itchy though) on/in my eyes that can only be fixed by opening my eyes really wide then closing them. I also have to (kinda stopped recently) do it an equal number of times on each side, but I lose track and freak out lol. Also used to touch the opposite side of my body if I touched one side, like if I rubbed one elbow I would have to rub the other one. I make up weird songs and they get stuck in my head for long periods of time. I've also had the word thing you described.

I kind of grew out of most of these things/don't notice them as much, I suspect you MIGHT too, but if this is interfering with your life or making you stress out a lot you may want to see a psychiatrist.

Doesn't that just sound exactly like minor OCD to an extent...?

I know I can't label it but from what I'm hearing sounds like it, if it's not really bothering you *too* much then I'd recommend doing what FathAndTrust is suggesting. Otherwise I would see a therapist if it gets serious enough to *really* bother you.

If it already is and I mis-understood the tone of your post then I'd say to go see a therapist.

I used to do this, it's OCD. But mine was I have to say certain things before I do something. I have to walk with an even amount of steps, everything must be even, raise my eyebrow raise my right or my face isn't even, if I touch this I have to touch this. If I don't get my pen's perfectly straight something bad with happen...etc etc.

I did grow out of this around 14/15 I started making myself ignore the urges. It gets easier, but now my obsession is my looks.
I would reccomend a pyschiatrist really, you dont want to b stuck with this for years.
