I think maturity and dirty jokes at the wrong time are two different things. You can be a bore with your jokes at 50.

You will start acting more mature when the people around you force you to do so. Until that time, be yourself and have fun.

well...I'm not immature in any sense according to most things, but I am like a kid. It's all about timing really. If you're somebody you can joke with, it's fine, if they have no sense of humor (they suck but...) try not to do it. I don't make dirty jokes or anything, but I am amused by the smallest things, sometimes even just bendy straws :D

i used to be so immature it was unbelievable. in 6th grade i took AP biology, and when ever my gay male teacher said penis, vagina, sperm, ect, i would laugh and would get the whole class going. in 7th grade i couldnt stop with THATS WHAT SHE/HE SAID jokes. they are really easy to find lol. 8th grade (13-14) is when i was still immature, but it started to settle down. in 9th grade im still 14, but now its much easier to control. its all hormones, no one can blame you ;)

Ok I know everyone always says grow up when you snicker at something dirty but to me that is just one factor of maturity. I mean, I still snicker when people randomly say something sexual, though not if its part of a conversation. Maturity is more the ability to realize when to be serious, and when joking around where to draw the line at.

I assistant coach a hockey team of 12-14 year olds, and refer to them as kids all the time. Their parents actually asked me one day, "You're only 17 how can you refer to them as kids" and I told them it was more about maturity than age. These kids just don't know when enough joking around is enough and how to get serious and get things done.

If you are able to distinguish that, then you are mature in my opinion.
