I am going to be a freshman this year and I am thinking of shaving my pubes, but I was wondering if it is very common for 9th graders or even highschoolers in general to have shaved pubes because if i had to like take a shower after PE or something I didnt want to be the only one with out any pubes.

I have been shaving since 8th grade, it's all to ones preference. I some people who have never shaved and I'm going into my senior year.

I'm a freshman and in PE this past week when we showered I would say that of a class of about 25 freshmen guys a few didn't have pubes yet or maybe they shaved, 2 or 3 we natural, the rest of us trimmed, most pretty short.

Why does this question's orientation seem to direct only at freshmen?
I believe shaving is for anyone wants to do it.
Other than self preference, another factor it brings about it; hygiene.

Its an entirely personal thing, and even if you seem to the the only one, there is nothing anyone should be laughing about, else guess they are alittle too shallow in that area.

But after having said thus, you are not alone, im sure many guys do trim or shave them, do be careful of ingrown hair if you intend to shave it off all completely; it going to itch real bad.
I would suggest trimming them neatly being the better option.

Good luck

Ok thanks for all the help guys! I think I am going to leave them for now, and if I do have to shower for PE (not sure if my school takes showers, my brother said they didn't) I will probably go with the flow.
