Anyone else get this?
It happens to me all the time, weather its a song or a movie, or seeing a really happy couple... it just hits me in the chest.
Its not directed to anyone usually, just the idea of love...
Find myself listening to love songs like im in a permanent break up.
Anyone else know what the hell im on about,.. or am i the only over emotional gal out there..

I know what you mean. I remember feeling just like that. . Selfless, movie star, fairytale sort of love. Perfect sweethearts and all that- but remember all relationships have their problems regardless of how 'perfect' they seem. My friends are also the same as you dont worry [age 17-19] hopeless romantics!
On the movies, the 2 main characters meet, don't realize they're meant for each other, hurt each other and then reconcile and finally the penny drops- they love each other.
IRL sometimes that hurt isn't so easy to forgive, and perhaps you're not in the right state to be dating someone, or maybe your families don't get along, or you have 101 things going on and you don't know whether you can ever live up to those expectations, and be who that person deserves...
maybe im projecting some of my own issues here, lol. But
keep on dreaming, why not after all, i think sometimes its the storybook idea of love that informs us of the choices we make in our own lives; gives us hope and belief in the intangible pursuit of love :)

I used to be a hopeless romantic. Thankfully, over the years, I've liberated myself from those vices. I look at couples head-over-heels for eachother the same way I look at junkies getting their fix. The two are indistinguishable in my eyes.

Sage has a fair point I suppose. Love does give people a rush due to the release different hormones, can bring out Obsessive Compulsive tendencies...so technically it could be seen as an addiction.

I really, really would love to experience the feeling which you are experiencing right now really.
I've never felt this ever....when I see couples anywhere I just turn my head away in disgust......I cannot help it.
When people marry and I hear others congratulating them and see them attending weddings and all, my first thought is "What the hell are they doing this for? It's all a mistake"
So really you have nothing to worry about, you're the 'normal' one, not cold-hearted, little 'cynics' like me.

Okay, not trying to be arrogant or mean or whatever... But I think a lot of people are in love with love. They want to be loved and they want to love so they go around "falling in love" with people they don't really love. I find it absolutely ridiculous. I don't believe in "love at first sight", I don't believe in love at second sight or third sight. You can't love someone you don't know. Unless you're just falling in love with their face.
I used to crush on every hot dude I saw. Thankfully, my eating disorder made me realise what idiots most of these kids were. It's like saying you love a book with a pretty cover just to show you're a book-lover when you haven't read the goddamn book.

I'm in love with the idea of love. I think it's just the way the media portray it, as like a Fairytale a happy ever after. I want to be that princess with the happiness.. Love is an amazing emotion, one that shouldn't be taken for granted.. To me love at first sight is rubbish you grow to love someone. Love songs, romance, happy endings it's just like what a million people out there want.. Just watching/listening to them gives you hope, whether that's false hope or not I don't know.. But it makes you feel good :)

I don't know, I just feel good when I see people loving each other in TV.

Listen I think it's great that you get that feeling. Don't let anyone come down on it or try to take it from you. Enjoy it and take something from it. The world we live in needs love and people who are impacted joyously by it. :)

I know exactly how you feel! Every day I wish I could have something like the movies or the songs but it isn't real- at least for me.
