(I'm not too sure where to post this but this seems like a place)
Does anyone else think that it is wrong?
It has many bad long term effects; just for hygiene? After doing some digging around I have learned the truth and that we should probably stop circumcising our children for no reasons. The glans should not be exposed 24/7. There is a no way to restore some of the foreskin. Glans being exposed lose their sensitivity and the foreskin has much of the nerves in the penis which are unable to be restored. If you wish to learn more it's as easy as a google search just look for foreskin restoration to learn all you would like to know.
Infant circumcision is wrong and pointless; don't do it.

I totally agree with you. It should have been my choice. My body, my choice. I was circumcised, when I was born, because it's a common practice here in the US. I hope one day, it becomes illegal to circumcise a new born baby. It should always be the males choice once they are able to decide. If you are so worried about hygiene, then teach your kid to clean it.
If I have kids, I'll fight to make sure they aren't circumcised at birth. Hopefully the mother will agree, so I don't have to fight.

So you think being mutilated looks better? I'm sorry, but whenever I hear someone defend circumcision, says a mutilated penis looks better, says "uncut" instead of intact, and stuff like that. I just want to punch them in the face. This is the topic you don't want to against me.

There is a bill that says it's gonna put a ban on banning circumcision. So if you want to speak up against it in some where pm me as well. =]

Let's try to clear up some misconceptions.
Looks better: I guess that an opinion.
Cleaner: A good comparison for this one is "Do you clean under your eyelids as well?" The glans (head of penis) is an internal organ and internal organs don't need to be washed.
Tight Foreskin: Until you reach a certain point in puberty your foreskin is suppose to be tight. Doctors tricked a lot of unknowledgable parents who didn't know this by saying there was something wrong with their kid to get extra money for surgery. Some people do generally have a tight foreskin problem but 99.9% of those can be solved with stretching the skin.

Well you do have to do some cleaning to the glans (with no soup)

There's a surgical way but that's dangerous
Manual way - you tug on the skin to create tension to spark mitosis
Device - same concept as Manual tugging but you wear a device to pull the skin
Manual tugging causes more high short tension and devices are more moderate long tension
(If you want to learn more google foreskin restoration because I don't know if you are allowed to post links or not)

We are all to our own opinion but I would like to encourage you to be against it. The foreskin has many good things to it and circumcision usually is only for "hygiene" and the money for the doctor. There are many males upset with their mutilation.

I see alot of people against this are from America. Does this mean it is done automatically over there?
Here in the UK, it is only done for medical reasons, I was "done" because the skin was too tight to let my wee out, (thats what I was told), it is never done just because.
As for sensitivity, I have been told circumsized boys are better lovers as they last longer, so I would not want to have a foreskin.

With you saying you'll circumcise your kids gave me a bad feeling =/
Please do some research on foreskin before doing something like this. In due time you will see and feel many changes to your glans. There are many nerves in the foreskin that you have never felt and would have of enjoyed dearly. It's your choice but your child's which is wrong.

Most are mutilated at birth because it's "better hygiene" which is complete bs. And for your problem there was other ways to solve that =/
Please people do research on it before you make the choice when you have a child.

i dont want my kids to have foreskin it looks weird and i could not teach them about it. my dad is cut, im cut, my brother is cut, my cousins are cut, my children will be cut. its just the way my family is i guess but fathers would like there children to be the same as them. how you supposed to teach a kid to piss when you dont have foreskin? how would your child think if he doesn't look like his dad? he probably would think he isnt normal, if his dad is cut but he isnt.

Oh so remove an important part of the penis to make him feel better? So you learned to pee by watching your dad? Btw all foreskin comes in different sizes not all hangs over the "pee hole" I understand you don't like the look yeah yeah but others like it as I do and a few girls I know. And when you were a child did you really care what your dad's penis looked like? I know I for sure didn't and as I got older I really didn't want to see it at all.

seeing what your dad looks look like makes you feel that you are normal. seeing your dad cut then looking at your self would make a child feel not normal. and no the foreskin is not an important part of the penis. yes it protects the glands but if it was so horrible to do why is it done? most girls i have fucked like a cut dick. most men are cut, ill continue this with my own children and they will continue it for theirs. maybe it is society that says cut is better, i dont know. what i do know is that i want my children to look like me. there is no wrong or right answer to this... some one posted earlier that it is personal preference. and i hope you respect my decision to circumcise my children the same way i respect your decision if you choose not to.

Your choice is yours, I'm just trying to persuade you. And it is the lies that have been feed into society that is telling you to do it. Wanting your children to look like you is kinda of a irrational reason and of all the girls you had relations with I bet they never been with an intact guy. If you are bad in bed I doubt a girl will come straight out and say you suck, as she would say she likes circumcised better than intact since you are circumcised. Plus a woman who bases you one your penis is just shallow.
Being intact makes sex much easy on the male and female.
You can do what you wish, just wish you wouldn't go with it. =/

From what I know, there are no real long-term effects unless one has problems with the foreskin being too tight. I personally feel having it removed should be a choice given to kids later in life if they personally want that choice, or having it removed as a solution to meet medical needs. Otherwise, may as well just leave it alone.

if i had kids i would leave them uncut until they were old enough for themselves to decide and then if they wanted to be cut then i would fully support their decision

So if my Dad lost a leg during a war, I wouldn't feel normal because I have 2 legs? I don't see your argument here.

It continues to be done because of misconceptions in the American society.
most girls i have fucked like a cut dick. most men are cut
Would you prefer to have sex with a circumcised women? Google "female genital mutilation". This has been banned then why not "male genital mutilation".
most men are cut
85% of the world is intact.
ill continue this with my own children and they will continue it for theirs.
Fair enough, but riddle me this. How do you know your children will get your grandchildren cut?
maybe it is society that says cut is better, i dont know. what i do know is that i want my children to look like me. there is no wrong or right answer to this... some one posted earlier that it is personal preference. and i hope you respect my decision to circumcise my children the same way i respect your decision if you choose not to.
But shouldn't you respect your children's right to do it? My parents thought they were doing the right thing by getting me circumcised, boy were the wrong 15 years later when I told them about that. It was one shitty month for all of us.

It's a tough decision. I'm not for mutilating the body for no reason at all. But personally I'm circumcised and have found no real harmful issues with. My bf and I haven't found any sensitivity issues :P and I think as long as you have good hygiene to begin with there should be no problem. Admittedly I didn't research the topic that much I'm just speaking from personal experience.
But if it is safer overall to remain uncut then maybe that's the way it should be as a rule of thumb and let ppl decide if they want to be cut or not.
My only problem with letting kids decide for themselves is at wht age do they decide then? It kinda like sex--- when is someone ready? It becomes a personal choice and who tells them the pros and the cons? Parents? Some parents can't even handle the basics when it comes to their kids.
Very tough decision--- personally I have nothing against circumcision as long as its done safe but will certainly read more about it.

That's because you are still young, it's not called a long term effect for no reason. In your later years of life you start to feel it or should I say not feel it. Many people tell about their sex life becoming nearly impossible to maintain since they have no feeling there.

The doctors tricked everyone so they could get a little extra buck. If people who are circumcised knew what it was like to be intact, they would be very disappointed that they were circumcised.

That's correct unless the person is sexually active and catches a STD or just has total bad hygiene. Both things that can be prevented condom/less to no sex and clean yourself.

Hmmmm, this is something I never really considered. I mean, yeah, I knew some older men had erection issues and had to take Viagra. But I never really thought about whether being cut or uncut would be a factor in this.
I'll have to admit, I am cut and it doesn't really bother me. Maybe some small part of me is curious as to what that extra skin feels like, but not enough of a part to want to try this foreskin restoration thing.

Of course it is. The only reason it became commonplace in the USA is because doctors spread misconceptions in the early/mid 1900s so they can charge people for a unnecessary surgery to get more money out of them.
