Hola, Bonjour, and Salutations everyone!

So as you all know, I love Photoshop. Call it a hobby, passion, obsession, or whatever else you want. Unfortunately I've noticed a rise in poor quality work that not only looks like shit, but proves the user has no knowledge of Photoshop.

So, once again, I'm opening my Photoshop 101! The last time I created this thread it was to help Aneklusmos to learn how to make signatures. I think this is where Brighter.Tomorrow also started his sig making. It also led to a contest between Marcie, Thomas, and I. I think Thomas one. Lol.

Here it is, ask and it shall be answered. I can even provide video tutorials of my own, or links to outside websites that will further help you.

Mod note: I chose note to bump my older Photoshop 101 because I wanted a fresh start with this one. Don't hate me.

For more, in depth help or if you'd like to assist in teaching others, I recommend following up on my own forum at www.express-yourself.org
This site is for all art: Photography, Graphic, Traditional, Literature, etc.
This site follows most of the rules as VT (Another administrator liked them, so we copied most of them) and thus assures a safe environment for you to work and develop you art.

No sir. While I still despise text only sigs, you do them best as I've said repeatedly.

And ask away, if I can't teach it I'll refer you somewhere that can help you.

I don't have my windows. I have to rely on gimp now.

Oh, and, I don't know if you have noticed it. But that Arsenic dude is me.

GIMP is a faithful alternative, never forget.

I get the feeling this thread will die, swiftly.

Considering I have to compete for Skills USA, I shall be looking at your shit, Josh. I will revel in it.

For the record I use paint... just saying, it isn't exactly fun to use. That's why I use it when I need to only now.

Ask, don't just look. Someone has to get this moving.

They want you to install so much extra. It didn't interest me.

You don't have to install anything but GIMP itself. It won't affect anything else.

You don't have to install anything but GIMP itself. It won't affect anything else. But if you want to utilise the full potential of the software, you do need to install a massive amount of Plugins. Especially if you are going to be a heavy graphics maker.

Depends on how heavy. Hobbyists could get by with the default functions.
