hi. im kate 14 years old..
i have a brother who is 16 and a drug addict..
we dont have our parents anymore but we live with our grandparents.. they are very stressed right now because my brother is in rehab because of substance abuse.. i hope he gets well so that he can go to school soon..
my question is that, will he still be able to go to school after rehab ? :confused:

Of course he can. My cousin was taken out of school for rehab. He went back and was fine. it take time and a lot of hard work to stay drug free. U have to support him and be there every step of the way. It can be a long journey.

Yes he will be able too, as long as he doesnt start taking them again, because then they have the right to kick him out. I hope he beats this addiction <3

Anyone can if they put their mind to it. People in these circumstances just need a whole lot of support. If he's able to find a girl then things will slowly calm down as he will have her to focus on.

Unless he's gay.

But yes school is fine for him.

he may or may not be able to return to school after rehab. that's a school issue and it depends when during the school year he'd be returning. it also depends on the form of rehab he's in. most rehabs catering to juvy's having a schooling system in place so they stay up on the work and don't fall behind, which case, he should be able to go directly back to school. however, if he happens to fall behind, they won't be able to accept him back right away. it has nothing personally to do with WHO your brother is, but his situation. the school doesn't want to set him up to fail. also a girl is a TERRIBLE idea for him. ANY rehab will tell you to stay OUT of relationship until you have AT LEAST ONE YEAR clean and sober. then you can THINK about becoming someone's partner.

Absolutely. His success will depend solely on his commitment to school and to ceasing (or cutting down) his drug use.
