Scars are fading...

My cuts are usually shallow, but they still scar. But my scars don't stay, the usually fade in two weeks time.
I haven't cut for 6 days, and my old scars are fading. The thing is, I feel sad that they're gone.
To calm myself, I run my fingers over them, to kind of let me know I'm not alone, but that's another story.

Is it bad to feel that way about fading scars?

I think that feeling is pretty normal. Though it could be a bad thing if you "miss them" enough to actually make new ones.

I felt like this a lot, but i dont so much anymore.. i guess they are like a comfort blanket for some people. Help you stay calm. Its not a bad thing at all :)

I'm trying hard to not give into the voices in my head telling me to give in...Hopefully I'll make it to 7 days without relapse :)

they fade because the cuts are shallow. that's a normal thing with a cut or bite of any kind. if you only damage a couple layers of skin, it will heal itself up quickly. if you cut deep enough, like a surgery deep, it fades some, but not completely, which is normal. the deeper it is, the less the skin regenerates.

if you're hearing voices, you need to get help. that's nothing to play around with.

I am getting help. But I meant 'voices' like, my conscience, you know? Like the bad part of me wants to give in, but the good part of me is telling me not to.

I feel the same way. I hate my scars when other people see them and glare,but I dont want them to faid. It feels like id loose apart of myself,and in some way...my comfort.

The same way the shallower scars on my leg have no texture to them any more. the are starting to heal. Before i could tell where everything was before I went to sleep, now I need light and my glasses to find them. I get what your saying.
