Daniel Robert "Danny" Elfman (born May 29, 1953) is an American composer, best known for scoring music for television and movies and leading the rock band Oingo Boingo as singer/songwriter from 1976 until its breakup in 1995. He is a frequent collaborator with long-time friend Tim Burton and has scored most of his films (the exceptions being Vincent, Frankenweenie (the original 1984 short film, the 2012 full-length adaptation features music by Danny Elfman), Ed Wood, and Sweeney Todd). He has been nominated for four Academy Awards and won a Grammy Award for Tim Burton's Batman and an Emmy Award for his Desperate Housewives theme. Elfman was honored with the prestigious Richard Kirk award at the 2002 BMI Film and TV Awards. The award is given annually to a composer who has made significant contributions to film and television music. Elfman is famous for creating The Simpsons main title theme as well as the Batman theme, and his role as Jack Skellington's singing voice in The Nightmare Before Christmas. He also sang for the character Bonejangles in the movie Corpse Bride.

It's amazing hardly any of the themes sound the same. Though the Spider Man start theme has a bit of Batman in it in some parts.

A friend of mine recently found some Corpse Bride sheet music for me. I completely jumped at it. Victor's Piano Solo is so pretty to play. :P

But yes, I love him. It's hard not to though when you're a Burtonite. And if you knew me, you'd know I'm a huge TNBC fan, so again, it would be hard for me not to love Elfman.

It's pretty hard not to like Danny Elfman. He's amazing, but not my favorite.

There are others out there I like myself. Such as John Williams. But Danny seems to put comedy and fun in each of his themes.

Danny Elfman is very good, but I prefer Hans Zimmer. That man is a genius.

You're right that's probably my favorite part of Danny's work. I think my favorites though are Clint Mansell and Michael Andrews (just for the Donnie Darko score)

His themes can get a bit boring once in a while. I love Harry Gregson-Williams.
