Cold Sore?

I have a cold sore on my lip and it really hurts :(

Des anyone know how I can treat it? I tried putting hot water on it to help...
Also, how long do they last?

I don't know, I always suffer through it because I get a ton of em so I am used to it. Although there is this stuff, I think it is called campho phenique, that works wonders.

Ha I hate em so much that I put 0.1 M Lye on it, dissolve it away a bit then put dilute hydrochloric acid on it. Usually is minimal pain, but it stings a bit.

Those benzoyl peroxide acne cream things work well for drying it out, and putting raw yogurt on it is sort of an age old remedy for cold sores in my house.
