I can't really think where else this would go, so I'll just stick it here.

I'm really into musicals, even though I can't carry a tune to save my life. Just wondering what musicals other people like?

My favorites are probably Spring Awakening, Next to Normal, and Les Mis.

I did a lot of just school and community theatre. I now find film to be more attractive to me as far as a career, because some musicals just get completely on my nerves. I like film because everything is subtler without losing effect, or in my opinion, while adding effect. Musicals are much more tiring, though I'm sure slightly less involved.

As far as my favourites, Phantom of the Opera, RENT, Rocky Horror, Sweeney Todd. Those I can say I've seen. I love the music to Les Mis but I've never seen it. I've as well seen Wicked, The Lion King, Footloose, and Annie, all were great but I'm not into just any musical. I used to love Wicked, I've seen that one twice actually, but then it got popular, and unconsciously when something becomes that popular it's a major turn-off for me... after hearing about a thousand people audition with the song "Popular," I wished that musical had never even existed. The book is amazing though. If any theatre kids read this, please, never audition with Wicked songs... or Annie for that matter, but that's a given.

I like those too! I just read Wicked this summer, and ever since I have been unable to like the musical at all. Now that I know how much is different from the book, I can't look at it the same way. Also, community theater is simply the best! I'm part of a community theater company, and they're like my second family. We don't do musicals, though.
