I haven't been on here in a while, but I felt like sharing since I'm on here. It's been about 2 months since I last used anything and I'm feeling pretty good. Classes just started up again and I don't know how long this sobriety is going to last, but I'm attempting to make it my first sober semester (besides maybe going to a few parties).

Story:
About 2 years ago I was addicted to meth (and had been for a year or so) and after breaking that habit I basically just started rotating through drugs (anything from weed to heroin) to avoid dependency and tolerance issues. This kind of allowed me to feel like I wasn't really an addict anymore and it definitely was an improvement over how I was prior, but I was still not very well off because it was constant ups and downs and my moods were basically determined by the drugs I was on. Honestly this rotation was probably a lot less planned than it sounds, I just knew that addictions were bad and I loved being high. So basically this is my first time managing to be TRULY clean for more than a week in the last couple of years (even though I often told people I was before).

Anyway, anyone else break a personal sobriety record and care to share?

I'm four years clean from morphine. I've had some close calls with my ex-husband's cocaine stash though, but haven't been anywhere near morphine.

I know, yay, four years is great! Good for you! I fail to replace my coping mechanisms with positive ones, however. True, my self-harm has become more scarce and my eating is much better, smoking is the only thing I've really been doing as consistently as I always have. But those two things flourished like never before after I went through rehab. And I feel like I'll just go to another thing if I stop my other addictions. Hopefully not back to drug abuse though.
