So, I was at a conference thing recently and they had quite a few books on recovery from self harm. I wrote the names down on my phone and looked them up when I got home. I was able to find some extracts online but from what I read, I'm glad I didn't buy them. Every single one seemed to be that they found God and realized they didn't need to cut anymore...that just didn't seeem very helpful to me!
So, what do you guys think? Have you ever read any of these types of books, and if you have, do you think they're helpful or a waste of time?

Honestly, I think just about anything is a waste of time if you don't want to commit to getting better yet. No book, article, or person in the world can help you until you want to help yourself. So it depends on the person. If they want to get better, and believe in God, I'm sure the books will help a bit. If you don't believe in God, the books won't matter much, lol. Though, I do think it's interesting to read about the different methods of how people got better. Recovery stories are always good. They may not help me personally, but it is nice to know people get better.

They wouldn't be very helpful to me either. I haven't seen any around but the only reason is because I haven't exactly looked.
