I think that there will be groups/are groups and different things will happen on that day depending on what group you're in, but I think it's a bunch of BS.

The first group is the packers who all got into some group and prepared for years and will move off into some cut off secret location to wait it out and to start a new life after the end of the world

The second group is the party people who are going to have a day before, a day of, and a day after party so for them it's gonna be a crazy three days either way.

The third group already have sold all their shit and will be disapointed when nothing happens.

The fourth group will just go about their normal lives.

The fifth group will get together with their family and just be with them, just incase something DOES happen.

The sixth group will be like that "end of the world comet' thing where they all kill themselves instead of dieing with the rest of the people as the world ends.

There are probably more groups, but that's all that's going to really happen that day, oh exept some planets ARE giong to be aligned with some star out there, which only happens once every really long time, so a seventh group will be at telescopes looking at that and studding it's affect on earth and whatever else astronomers do :p

That's not true. The Mayans declined as a civilization before the Spanish even started their exploration. The Mayans most likely crumbled as a civilization due to not enough resources in an ever populating society.

Anything can happen. It could end, maybe not because the Mayan calendar ends in 2012, but that something we did or do destroys us. And nothing you said proves why their calendar ends there.
To go onwards, why are we putting so much energy into a calendar that was written so long ago? Sure, the Mayans were very smart, but that doesn't mean they were clairvoyant.

I don't think it'll end. Part of me thinks that deaths will occur because people will commit suicide to escape the "horrible deaths" that are about to happen. I wrote a video script where it wasn't actually the whole planetary alignment thing that made it the end, but actually the population of people who did. They freaked out and ended up creating a dystopia due to the belief in the myth of 2012. I don't think anything drastic will happen, but some people will die (most likely being the initial believers).

It won't. The idea came from the fact that the Mayan calender ends at 2012. But it has to end at some point, they can't keep creating dates over like 4000 years into the future can they? I think the date they stopped at is far away enough that they didn't need to write anymore for the time being, and seeing as there are no longer 'Mayans" they haven't really had the chance to update the calendar. stupid logic really.
