Is it allowed for people to make threads asking for friends and maybe even asking for friends of a certain age?

Considering it's a help site and not a social site, I don't see the point.
The intro threads should have helped, if not, then just post. You'll get cool with people soon enough.

That is because of the PM restrictions on new members. You have 100 posts, so you can PM now. Try it, I promise it works.

Yeah but that requirement is sending anything to anyone in the registered group. If I remember correctly in the welcome PM it said I can send PM's to staff without 100 posts.

Unless that's a different forum I'm thinking of. Hard to keep track when I am a member on so many.

You can send a PM to staff regardless of posts.
