How normal is it to have lingering feelings for an ex-girlfriend?
We dated for 9 months and during that time we got close without getting "close". And I really cared for her, truthfully I did. Whenever I said "I love you" I really meant it. And to be honest I still care for her. I still care about all my ex's.
Anyways, towards the end of the relationship, I kept getting tip off's from friends that she was talking and hanging around guys, who I told her, I didn't trust. And it got to the point where I was convinced she was cheating on me. So I confronted her, gave her a second chance, and then she betrayed my trust again. And that's when I ended it.
That was last November.
Since then, we've started talking and we're pretty close friends to this day. She has a new boyfriend and they've been going out for quite some time now. He's a pretty good guy, and he treats her right.
But lately I've been getting these lingering feelings, as if I want her back. I don't want to act on those feelings or anything.
Is this normal? Has this ever happened to you?
