Has anyone ever used Joomla! for any sites. Advanced, yeah I know. But it's still a great system to use plus there's amazing support forums out there for people having difficulty.

I am creating a new community portal with it. Been using J! since '08 for various paid clients, and others. Including myself :)

Joomla is not my favourite CMS, but it will work for very simple things(if you want to put in lots of work to do something simple).
You might even be better off coding your own, but then again, I'm odd, so that may not be feasible :P

The only thing that is complicated is the darn 1.7 it took me so long after 1.5 was released to upgrade sites from 1.0 because 1.5 was difficult to use. Now I have to use 1.7 and it's very weird and complicated due to the new group settings, and stuff like that.

Omg building a site for it and really no good extensions for the 1.7.0 version. The good comment system that I used for 1.5 hasn't been updated, Joomgallery hasn't been updated, Really nothing good out there for Joomla. Hope to see improvement.
