How do Male hormones work (as in how do they affect a guy), and where does the testosterone fit into that? How can I minimize the effects that they have on me?

First off the testosterone is produced by the pituitary glands and then regulated with the aide of the endocrine system but that is what you don't want to hear.

There is no way that you can stop the testosterone from being produced in your body, if you don't mind me asking why is it that you want the testosterone to stop?

Btw, hormones affect how you look and how yoru body processes things, hormones affect everything from how your voice sounds to how much hair you will have on your body.

Without hormones you would not be able to grow up. Plain and simple.

If you have anymore questions feel free to drop me a line and I will get back to you asap.

Well demitri, I don't want the testosterone to stop (that would be absurd!) I just want to minimize the negative affects that they have on my mood or behavior. Is there anything I can do or change to do that?

Ways to minimize the effects include thinking before you speak and not saying everything out loud? There is no real way other than psychologically speaking.

No way that I am aware of. Each person produces different amounts. You may be able to go through hormone treatments, but that is pretty extreme. There aren't that many negative effects it has on your body, naturally, as long as you aren't taking additional artificial supplements- pills/shots. In most people, the body should naturally produce the correct amount for you.

Hormone changes causing mood and behavioral swings are normal, and its part and parcel of growing.

Coping with them comes from the mind, and thats another aspect of maturity.
Maturity, is a superset of different minor subsets, branching from physical, emotional, pyscological...

Learning to control you moods in a mature fashion are not developed through hormones, but its rather by experiences. Some people never learn how to do so, thus end up having very bad relations with friends and collegues.

In other words, Emotional Quotient (EQ), its debatable if EQ can or not be taught in the classrooms, but most people would pick them up as the travel through the ups and downs in live, and from the comments from friends.
But personally i feel EQ can be taught, but not in the classrooms, but through the journey called life.

Good luck

testosterone has several effects on your body and mind.
If you are in growing phase then it shortly boosts growth of your bones and then stops it by sealing bone ends (I might be technically correct), it also makes you look male if you are in growth phase (wider shoulders, bigger bones and masculine face features)
It increases your muscle mass and strength (thats why bodybuilders like it)
It decreases your fat and redistributes it, somehow.
It gives you energy and stamina. It increases your metabolism.
It makes you hairy. And makes your skin oily and could cause acne.

of emotional side one clear thing I have noticed is that I do not cry anymore. Well it must be something really bad that makes me cry or brings tears. Relative emotional insensitivity? Should be a feature of a male? Manly behaviour :s
I constantly am horny. I think too much about sex I think. It is distracting if I need concentrate on something else.
I think more rationally. I think so at least. I really have noticed a change in the way I think. It is hard to describe. I do understand scientific texts with some help. I really can concentrate deeply if I am motivated. I am not sure if this is due to Testosterone.
