View Full Version : Is it bad to want this?

As I spend time alone thinking, I realize that my idea of beauty is much different from what I previously thought. Although being extremely thin and having a perfectly sculpted body is attractive (in my warped mind's eye) I find that women who are curvy, have a little weight on them (not too much) and who have soft, smooth skin are much more attractive.
I posted these pictures in another thread, but I'll post them here for reference, not as pictures but as links just in case I happen to offend anyone:

I think this is what I really want. Now I know in Greek society today this type of womanly figure is probably not desired any longer, but...these women seem healthy and well-fed and curvy, and there is obviously some weight on them. It just seems like a more attractive woman to me.
The thing is...I'm not sure if this is a good goal to set myself. I want to be the right, healthy weight and not be underweight. Anorexia makes me sick. No matter how much I tell myself that I want to be that thin, I know inside that I don't. I'd rather be curvacious and have a figure rather than be bony and gross. Looking like the women in the pictures seems like a better goal.
So...is it bad to want to look like this? These women are full figured. To guys even like full-figured women?

No, it isn't bad at all! :) Guys have different tastes. Some guys like curves, some guys like bones, some guys like petite. Either way, this is a huge step for you. I am so glad that you got the whole anorexia thing out of your head. I'm proud of you. :)

No, it's good that you want to be at a healthy, curvy weight and yes many men prefer that to underweight.

Well...I just realized that even no matter if I was anorexic, I'd still be big. Big boned, big shouldered. So I figured I might as well look normally instead of look emaciated. There has to be one or two guys in the world that like women who have a little healthy weight on them. I don't want to be overweight like I am, I want to have curves and have very little fat on me. I'd look more normal being the way I am than being anorexic or bone-thin. I think it's better for me just to pursue a smaller, more realistic goal. I just hope my choice in my body will get me a boyfriend some day.

i don't like underweight girls at all! i like them to be of healthy weight and have curves. it's beautiful to me. other guys love underweight women. some like overweight and other obese. it's an interesting thing really.
whoever you are, and desire to be, is the best person you should be, as long as it's healthy. if a man truly loves you, it will be for you and not the number of pounds.

I'm glad a couple boys see curvy and full-figured as attractive. Maybe I'll have a better chance with a little less weight and a little more curve. I can't see myself being anorexic; it just isn't possible. It's not a road I want to go down. If I can set a realistic goal for myself (I'm 149-150lbs now—I'd love to reach 139-140lbs by December) I can achieve it easier and be healthier. That's what I want. Healthy. Not underweight, not thin. Healthy.

that's a great goal! remember, weight is based on height also, so don't assume your range is appropriate based on a generalization. make sure it's healthy for your height also. and good luck.

I've noticed that many, many men prefer curvy as it looks more natural than underweight, just not chunky. Chunky is just repulsive. Curvy is popular among men. :)

That's what I'm going for. I already have a little bit of a curve in terms of my torso and hips, I just want to lose more weight to accentuate that. My legs are thick and kinda chunky but I hope to slim those down as well. I just want to be overall thinner (not too thin) and more toned. It's a more attractive look.

No, of course not. I don't think most guys want to be with people that they can't see if their standing sideways :). I think as long as you stay heatlhly, in both sides of the spectrum (not too small, or big), then your fine.
But if a guy really likes/cares for you, he'll be able to see past that.

I really hope so :'). I'm not sure changing how I think and how I weigh in a healthy way will make me more dateable, but I might as well do it for myself in the mean time. It's healthier for your mind that way too.

I was just giving an example. Anyway, it is great that you are doing this. You are strong, and I'm glad you can see the bright side of life.

Thank you :'). I just don't want to go down a road I can't turn back on. If I become anorexic or depressed I'll only make my life harder.

Your gorgeous, don't let anorexia ruin such a good thing.

Gorgeous? Really? I thought I was more of a 3 or 4 on the 1-10 scale :P. Honestly!
But I won't ruin myself with anorexia. It isn't worth it. Plus, I don't have the type of negative motivation to be that way. Maybe being lazy in this case is a good thing.

I think that this is a great way to think, I'm proud of you for wanting to look more like this than someone who barely has anything on them. :)
I definately want to think like you now :) I hope you reach your goal!

Thank you :). I'd really rather be healthy than be a skeleton. Being a skeleton doesn't feel good. Being hungry doesn't feel good. You can eat and be healthy and maintain a healthy weight. It's possible, people do it every day :).
I hope you reach your goals too! Never give up hope, no matter how hard it is.

So pleased for you Lethe I can't tell you!
I think the women in those links look perfect. How I want to look one day. Far more attractive, womanly, lovely healthy skin and hair.
I'm really really really happy for you (: feels like what we said finally sunk in and you made the right decision. To be healthy and happy.

I'm so happy to know that there is someone out there who wants to look healthy and not as skinny as possible. That's my goal.

Last time I read a post by you it was you wanting to be anorexic. I'm pleased to read that you have changed your mind. So happy for you! As i've said before you are a very attractive person from what i've seen in your pictures. Well done for not choosing the Anorexic path!

Thank you :'). I know I'll never be as attractive and thin as most other girls, but at least I can be healthy and maybe I'll be attractive to some guy. Just maybe.
