Looks nice, the text looks a bit sharp against the cloudy background.

Yours is good.
I was lazy on mine and added some words to an image with paint on my sig, but it turned out good none the less.

Vulpes that still turned out pretty cool though

Looks like:
Render > Clouds
Text: Bevel + Stroke.
Very unappealing.
Google some signature tutorials if you're going to use backgrounds or otherwise look at Aaron and Rith's work for ideas.
I won't lie like everyone else: It doesn't look good.
Practice will make it look better.

I agree with Origami. Right now the image is very basic and dull. Does not attract anyone and would cause more sore eyes than people liking it in general.
There are a thousand and infinity graphic forums out there that are willing to provide tips and tricks to beginners like you. You could even ask for tips and tricks in the graphic area here.
Keep up the work and one day you'll make me impressed. When it comes to sigs it's very difficult to make me impressed.

<- Runs an art forum.
<- Dominated the signature scene on VT for a very long time.
<- Just reopened his Photoshop 101 thread here on VT.
Lmao.

I also agree with Origami, I'm left unimpressed.
The signature color clashes with many of the forum themes, so it becomes distracting and unappealing to the eye.
Give it another try. Maybe look at some tutorials like Origami suggested.

signatures should be sized 150x300.
and if u want to make a cool background then download some brushes and use em, then it will turn out alot better and cooler. or just take your gradient tool then make a new layer and make it rainbow colored or something with it, then select layer properties as color.
heres a link for a vid that will make it a bit easyer to understand : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKcmR5fIv_8&feature=related

Mmm, yeah, I stay away from most text effects except I do enjoy shadows. I rarely use stroke and I've only embossed specific parts of text in specific sigs where it adds to the sig. Like, my first-ever VT sig had my name embossed, but it was a sleek cursive font and though I've developed what little ability I have since then, I still think it looks pretty good that way with an otherwise very boring sig pic. Background-wise, honestly, unless you're using a distinct picture as the base, I'd make it transparent. The background doesn't do it any favours.
