It doesn't really matter where you cut- I think that just if you're cutting/hurting yourself, you can be considered a "cutter." There's lots of different places people self-harm, and it's not restricted to cutting your arms.
I guess, cutting and carving are slightly different... but I think they can be used interchangeably at times. I'm sure the two words mean different things to different people as well. Most of the time, I'll just use the word "cut" to describe my self-harm. Then I use "carve" for if I've cut words. So essentially, I think either can be used depending on what the person considers it.

No offense taken. And I wouldn't recommend starting.
Yeah, you would be a cutter.

Self harm is where you purposely injure yourself. You would be considered a "cutter" yes, as much as i hate that word. There isn't much difference between cutting and carving they are both forms of self injury.

Its not a "club", or even a good thing.
If you have just started ask yourself, is it worth it? permanently scarring your body for life? being addicted to hurting yourself? its not. Try and stop before it gets out of hand.

It doesn't matter where but I agree with Fran. A lotta people start out thinking it's "cool" or whatever but it's not. It gets worse. It becomes horrid. Adults will notice. You'll cut too deep one day. Something. Cutting isn't the answer. It's hell.

It isn't. Oh god it's soo so so so SO not worth it. yes it feels and looks like an escape, but it's not. Try to stop while you still can, before you get REALLY addicted. That three weeks you just started becomes three months fast. I know, and then that three months becomes two years, even faster. I know all this, I should have stopped while I could, but this isn't about me, just try to get help while you can. It's not worth it.
Best of luck to you.

I understand that it is not a club, I don't usually do it either. I have alot of murderous thoughts so the pain I want to cause others I inflict on myself so I don't get in trouble with the law. I also know it is bad my brother thought I was crazy for carving XII on my arm , I did it twice the first was hard to see . My cutting is almost never brought on by my emotions though , I realize from the forums it can be a addiction.

It is an addiction. I've smoked, chewed and drank but the one that has been the hardest to quit was cutting. I hadn't cut for 8 months up until last night but before then I was struggling to quit. Don't start and if you have, STOP. I have at least 200 cuts on my upper arms/shoulder area and my right middle knuckle has at lease half a dozen and theres a few on my wrist. If you need to talk just PM me.

Yeah it's not exactly a 'club'
No offence taken. If you cut anywhere on your body your still considered a (hate the word) cutter. Personally I think that carving and cutting are slightly different. I cut and the 1 of the two things that I have carved 'worthless' below my right elbow.
