That's actually a really good decision. Most people are like, "Ok after this cig I'll stop," or "Ok after this carton I'll stop." Nope. Just gotta make the choice and stick with it.
I know it's difficult, believe me, I know. But you can do it. :)
Much love and support. ^_^

Try gum and nicotine patches. Otherwise, stick it out - it's the right thing to do :D

get an e-cigarrete , its relatively harmless. to be honest, if you have a true addiction, stopping cold turkey is likely to lead to failure

my mom has a best friend who smoked, and my mom smokes. My moms friends told her to put a bit of baking soda on your tonge and then light your cigarette and you will be absolutly disgusted by them.. meh, it worked for her :) good luck

Electronic cigarettes are simply not satisfying enough. Pick a quit date and begin nicotine replacement therapy. If your friends smoke, stay away from them for a spell.

Thank you all guys. I actually have a E-cig and found it to be a waste of money cause it did crap. And i know its going to be hard cold turkey but i care about her more than i do my addiction. I am going to be doing this without any substitutes.

Well done! this is the right thing to do, it will make you happier and healthier in the long run. good luck :)
when you crave one, i normally do something spontaneous like go out for a jog. so when i get back im too tired to want one :P you can do it!

Nicotine gum and patches especially are bullshit. Those haven't worked for any of my friends. One of them chewed that gum all day, then a little less and less, but he still wanted to puff cigarettes.

Thank you very much :) and jogging makes me crave a cig. i go and eat which helps me get over my ED too so it all works :)

Yah i think they may work for me but i find me quitting for my girl is more based on a moral stand point not a health one that i dont even want the nicotine in me

I tried for a week cold turkey. Absolutely EVERYTHING got on my nerves. I hope you don't have a stressful job or deal with a lot of irritating people because you'll be making a mad dash for the corner store real quick. I used jolly ranchers and the gum and it didn't do a fuckin thing.
If you have the determination and you don't have anything I listed above, you'll be in luck. I've been smoking for 4 years, so I hope you got either support obviously from your girlfriend and some easy going environments, maybe let them know you quit smoking. You will feel irritable, you will be shaking, you will be hungry and eat or gain weight, you will have to scrub your teeth extremely well and will still take time for the stains to come out. And lastly you will feel the need to either drink something or eat something because of the hand to mouth fixation. I used to smoke 2 packs a day.
It takes a lot of balls to quit, the withdrawl is not half as bad as heroin so anytime someone says that, they're full of shit, it's just how bad you want to quit. You'll be saving probably over $200 a month. So if you can do it, much respect, if not, I don't blame you. Good luck.

Thx ronnie and yah im more supporting my girl at this time (can be read in depression section) so im not even having her thinkg about it. and going through herion and meth myself i know this withdrawal aint gunna be close to those so i shoud get through it. I have noticed alot of hand to face fixations though. ive been chewing on pencils, peeling my lips and stuff like that alot which i never did before

Honestly if ur looking to quit I would try something like eating a lolipop every time you want a cigarette, also it can be helpful if you keep track of how many cigarettes youve wanted to smoke during a day and write it down every time you have 20 write down the amount of money you would have spent on that pack, and at the end of the week add up how much money you have saved and since you said ur quitting for ur girlfriend why dont you spend that money on something nice for her :D

Gum helped me a lot. Normal chewing gum. When the urges got really bad I chewed ice cubes, that helped a lot as well surprisingly. Try to keep away from anyone thats smoking around you, because it'll only tempt you further.

My friend had to quit and he said it was the hardest thing he ever did. But he stuck it out, and hasnt smoked in 6 months.

At this point in time i still have not had one cig. Also two nights ago my girlfriend had passed away from damage to her heart and did not survive long after the open-heart surgery. I am still going to push forwards and not smoke so when/if there is an afterlife i will be able to tell her :)

Honestly I wish now that i could physically buy things for her with the money saved... but she passed two nights ago...

I've been actually drinking huge ammounts of water to keep me busy and my mind off it cause if i smoked and drank it tasted disgusting. But all my friends legit smoke, I dont have one non smoking friend so its kinda just there.
