Jogging is always important. It burns excess fat and makes your fitter for all the other things you have to do.
Sit ups-normal sit ups, do until you can't do them anymore. Do a mixture of classic sit ups and side to side sit ups to work different abdominals.
Crunches-enough said.
Swimming is good, but you need to do a bit with it because just swimming takes a lot for toning/abs.
Finally, you want to work on your arms, nice arms help proportion your body. Push ups, pull ups etc are the best. Try push ups with claps, these get your heart lumping and your arms working.
A lot of the classic old fashioned work outs work much better for abs and tone. You don't need a gym, but it helps.
You need to stay dedicated. If you do, within a week or two you should notice you have to increase your reps.
Also, a tan can't hurt ;)

Yeah running is really good, and it will get you fit fast. You have to push yourself though.
I'm in my state triathlon team, so I know that swimming helps to. Swimming is the most efficient way of getting fit.
Also push ups and bridges are good too.

Great advice, the only thing I would add is diet ! Keep of the sweets, snacks..etc and get quality foods (red meat, vegetables, etc..) and plenty of water... take in less calories to thin as you work out...

Do some cardio to burn excess fat, and back, abs, chest and leg workouts give the best physique, obviously do biceps, triceps and all other muscle groups but those 4 are really the ones that sculpt your physique
