When I read people's stories about self harm Several things happen to me.
I Usually Cry
I feel sick in my stomach
I feel a strange sensation in my right wrist right on my large vain, This lasts untill I get up and think about something else.
This last part really scares me. I don't know if it's a desire to cut, or Sympathy pain for others.
I've never cut but it's certainly crossed my mind in the past.
I'd really like some advise on this.

I do get that feeling as well Ben, it feels like any other urge to self harm for me though. These stories might be triggering for you, so you might want to avoid this forum so you don't start.

I thought that too, But I'm for some reason drawn to reading it. I do want to respond to people's posts and be supportive though.

Well, I don't know... Somehow I never get these sensations. Yes, I empathise for them and I do want to give them one big hug and make it all better but it doesn't make me want to cut. Think of it this way, if people look up to you(which I'm sure they do), you want to be a good role model. And that means -not- cutting or picking yourself up when you do. So don't cut because of them or for them. That's not what we want. We post things to get help and to help others, not to bring people down.

I think when I read other stories, I relate and it just feels normal. Before I cut I was horrified by the prospect, but now it feels common place [although i havent cut in a very long time!]
I'd really advise you stop visiting these boards because the more you normalize the behaviour, the less of a big deal it seems and the more likely you are to start yourself. Not worth it. I know from fricking thinspo.
Take care hun
