I remember the days when you could go into GAME and find shelves and shelves of PC games used and new, and there was one shelf which had gamecube rubbish on. Do you miss the days you could talk to your friends about COD1 and halo 2? Nowadays we're confined to one panel of shelves, and have to talk about map packs on xbox live and how sony network was hacked last week...
I miss the olden days, anyone else?

I honestly do not, because I've always been a console gamer. The only PC games I've really ever played are The Sims, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and Counter Strike: Condition Zero.

>implying PC gaming is dead
Really OP, that's just stupid. Do you even realize that a PC has more power and potential than consoles? Console gaming is incredibly limited to hardware capabilities, whereas PC gaming makes incredible strides in introducing newer alternatives. You have to be either blind or dumb to think that PC gaming is over.

PC gaming is not dead in fact it's gaining quite a bit more traction again, since the hardware in PCs highly dominates consoles. Websites such as Pcgamer.com show what is happening in PC gaming. Battlefield 3 is an example, the PC version will have better graphics and support up to 64 players.
Halo 2 was a horrible port from xbox. Just saying :P

He is talking about where you would walk into an electronics store and see shelves of PC games instead of the single one many of them have now, and of those 95% contain WoW or Starcraft or Black Ops. Before it was...everything. Every game that came out recently, was there. Now..just..:no.

The only reason shops like GAME and Gamestop ect don't sell boxed games anymore is because of platforms like Steam, Origin and D2D.
PC games STILL outnumber console games 2:1.

PC games have been around longer than console games anyway
MOST games still come out on PC and you still get a lot of games that are exclusive to PC anyway
never liked the PC for video gaming PS3 anyday

Why would we go back to brick and mortar stores when there are more efficient ways of distribution? Steam also has amazing sales.

BRING BACK THE OLD DAYS
No. Keep the "old days" where they belong. You can't just revert to PC gaming when opportunities are rising beyond that. Do you own any consoles?

Murdoc. Consoles right now are underpowered compared to computers. They're more affordable, yes, but computers will always be powerhouses.

U can play music while in game.
But why would you want to? For some games, like Tetris(for example), that can be fun, but then I might as well just turn on the radio and play it on the PS2.
But if you're playing Mortal Kombat, then the latest Bruno Mars song wouldn't fit very well, now would it. :P Unless, of course, you're feeling groovy that day, but.....you get my point. ;)

If you really wanted to be a dedicated gamer then you wouldent let that problem stop you!!!
Upgrade your web. Alot of games you buy from the shop still require steam anyway. Sooner or later you ARE going to use steam, origin or D2D services :)
Did i mention not paying to play on like unlike the shitbox360 or paying up and over 45 quid a game for the george foreman 3

For most console games you can as well
U can play music while in game.
You can do that on the Xbox 360 too.
Not that I'm defending consoles.
PC gaming has, and most likely always will be far superior to consoles.

You are aware that you can? The cables that plug it into your monitor are the same that you could use with, for example, a projector. Most TV's have the same out port so you can do exactly that. Google your tv model and see where they are.

Not to mention that there are cheap converters that will convert from any connector type, to any connector type.
(DVI to HDMI for example)

Oh...didn't realise this was such a tetchy subject. And i was never implying that PC gaming is dead, or at least never meant to. It isn't dead at all, just store bought computers are expensive and sometimes not up to the job, custom built jobbies can be cheaper and miles better than consoles. All i was meaning to say is just that lots of games now, like recent ubisoft games, have been built to work on consoles then are ported to PC where as they used to be built for computers and then ported to consoles. And the other bit is why we have to wait a bit longer than "consolers" to play the game.

You can still get hundreds of games on STEAM for cheap prices. But, yes I do miss them. However, PC gaming is probably the best. Even though I find it difficult to use the keyboard that my console controller.
