It's normal to fell unhorny after orgasm, in fact you should.
I would like to imagine if orgasm does not bring enough satisfaction, no one wouldbe doing it.
You mentioned gross I'd suppose it's the normal guilt trip of masturbation in most of us.
It's because somehow or rather we have been hardwired to believe be it family, friends, religion and stereotype worshippers that it's wrong.
