He came to you because he trusts you, so talk to him. Parents don't want to do it or they would have by now. I say talk to him and tell him what he wants to know.

My parents never told me and left me to figure out for myself...so I say tell him, it's better for him to learn about it the right way

It really depends on how he asked you.
If it was in a joking manner, then obviously I wouldnt do anything.
But if he was being serious, (sat you down, and casually asked you,) then if you are comfortable with it, and you two have a good relationship and your not worried this will damage it, and you really know what your talking about, then go for it :)
Good Luck :bounce:

This is a difficult task, you dont want to lead him on the wrong direction either.
But it is evident that he is close and definately comfortable asking you for the talk, Assuming he sees you as an older figure or as a brother.
This is a good place to ask around on how should you go about educating him, doing some research from past threads, online would give you a better insight on what you can do.
As you have been through this path as well, do tell him what you know, but tell him why some are considered favourable, while others are not.
Try not to leave curiousity loop holes, answer his questions with an open mind.
Good luck

if you are still not clear on everything than you don't want to give him wrong info its best you let the parents do it.....but if you did know(everything)what you were talking about than ya i guess you could tell him
