View Full Version : Would you be straight if you could?

I'm not posing a huge question here, I'm just curious about the answers people would have. Personally, I wouldn't be. The only one reason I would is if being gay got so bad with discrimination and whatnot, that I had no other option. Straight people are great and all (I wouldn't be here without 'em) but I wouldn't want to be one

Edit: I was hoping someone would catch on to my Osterhargen Key DW reference.

If I had a choice, it would be yes- because it would make things easier and less complicated.

i'm straight and wouldn't have it any other way. i'd never wish to be gay or bi. i wish everyone was straight so a lot of hate would end. well that, or people would stop being stupid, but that's not happening.

Probably not. It's nice having what is to a degree, a separate community.

I would just like this fucking confusion to end, for me at least. It would make things so much less complicated.

With the stereotypes and the discrimination prevalent in the world, yes, I do wish I was straight. Quite honestly. I love being gay, but if I could change my attraction completely, then yes, I would be straight.

in one word, no. because, in an ideal world, nobody should care weather you like boys girls or both. every person is born unique, why should we all be the same?

I really do take joy in being who I am. I just wish things were easier and hopefully they'll become easier one day...

There's lots of things I would to change about myself. Being gay is not one of them.

If I could choose, I'd be straight, but I wouldn't change it.

Bah, I gave in. I am not gay but... I am just going to let changes happen with time. I'll just make the best decisions to my ability and fate will 'suggest' my changes.

Im not saying i dont love who i am because i do love who i am but honestly i would be straight and my thought on this goes into the whole sexuality is a choice why would i chose to be something that is so hated around the world so i would be straight if i could but there is no way in hell to make me straight i am who i am and i need to love myself and i do =)

It's really hard for me to decide... I guess, although it pains me to say that. I attempted suicide twice, and started self harming, got depression etc most of it rooting from my sexuality.

Definitely. My self harm started from my attraction to guys - being straight would be so much easier. No coming out, no discrimination, no fear of rejection.

If .. I guess not, im pretty happy the way i am , and have not regretted.
Be it straight or bi, everyone would face a certain level of relationship problems.
Just like any couple.

Although there are advantages of being straight, but well there are advantages of being bisexual too.
Its just that it takes time for some people to accept.

NO! I'm gay and I love being gay. I want to be gay until I die :)

I don't know... It would certainly be less confusion and make things easier. Then again I'm learning that being gay is just a part of me like anything else.

i am straight, but even if i wasn't, i would force myself against my flesh to do, what i believe, is morally right. and i'm not saying anyone is bad or wrong for being homosexual. when i chose to follow christianity, i also chose to give up many "rights" to my human nature or "flesh".

Well this sums it up for me.

You cant change who you become if your gay, your gay, if your bi, your bi, theres nothing wrong with any of these its just who people are

I'm gay, and I don't know any different. I've always had sexual and emotional attraction to boys, and I enjoy having those feelings, because they feel right.
The only two advantages of being in a straight relationship that I would love to have in a gay relationship would be being able to naturally conceive a baby, and having more chance of finding someone you love, because there's a much larger dating pool for heterosexuals.

I can't answer this with one word or statement. Too much depends on different variables and factors that affect me now and how they would change if I was straight.

I would like to be straight so that I didn't have to go through the bullying that I have and any that I may have to go through later, I'd also like to just be totally honest with all my friends (especially the ones that I haven't came out to) and not feel completely worried about people finding out.

I wouldn't want to change because of the friends that I've met because I'm gay and although there is discrimination and bullying there is also a very strong sense of comradery between myself and the other few gay/bi people that are not out in my school and I wouldn't want to give that up for anything. Plus I would absolutely love to introduce my friends to my boyfriend but if I changed then that wouldn't ever be possible.

Probably not. I mean, yeah, being gay does present certain challenges. But nothing that I can't overcome. And the whole idea of being emotionally attracted to girls, well, that whole concept is foreign to me.

Nope.
