I guess it's the default avatar, just the face. Like the one that gets updated at certain post milestones (50, 100, etc.). I get that it shows when a user is banned. But I noticed a user who is listed as "frozen." What does that mean? How different is "frozen" from "banned"?
And while I'm at it, what do you have to do to get banned versus getting frozen? Is it just at the mod's discretion? It's just been on my mind recently.

'Frozen' is a temporary ban. It occurs when you accumulate a certain amount of infraction points, or when a Mod chooses to 'freeze' you (Because you were causing havoc on the forums or whatever reason).
A 'Ban' is just that, you're banned, gone. It happens when you accumulate 100+ active infraction points.
To be banned or frozen, you break the rules.
But don't do that. ;)

Well, getting frozen is from too many infractions (when you break the rules) or depending what it is you may get straight t banned or only banned by repeated offenses of breaking a small rule. Double posting would take more times to be frozen for example (if they even do that) Anyways frozen is like a suspension from school, banned is an expulsion.

Thanks.
A couple more things:
Can infraction points be forgiven? Like if you break a rule but you do good things, do you lose some infraction points? Basically, is there a balance?
And if a user is banned or frozen, is there ant way for just some user to find out why that other user was banned or frozen?

I believe infractions wear of in time based on what infraction it is.
No, it is a super secretive secret between admins and mods why people are banned. I suppose if they were frozen you could ask them in person, but it's a privacy thing (I think that's how it works)
If you just want to avoid doing it... I suggest reading the stickies.

Indeed they do.
Infractions expire, depending on the severity of the infraction.
No, super secretive secret between admins and mods.
Lol, this is also true.
There's no way for a regular user to see why another user was infracted/banned.

So if I broke a rule when I started (posting in the girls' puberty forum because I didn't read enough rules...), is there a place where I could find out or a person who I could ask about my current infraction points?
And do the ref points have anything to do with it?

Yes, on your User CP, they appear there on top if I am not mistaken, never had one.
Nop, rep is like a popularity dealio.

Okay...so either the default is high or I've been really bad and broken rules without knowing it...75 points?

Matt, to put your fears to rest, you do not have any infractions. What you recieved was a PM from a mod stating that you've done something you shouldn't have (In this case, posting in the girls forum). That is not an infraction.
Also, yes, 'Vulpes' is correct with the fact that your infractions (If you have any) will appear in your User CP.
Also, 'rep points' is in no way connected to infractions. 'Rep' is a measure of how much people approve of what you're saying. So if a lot of people agree with you, you may have quite a high rep. If not a lot of people agree with you, you may have low rep or even negative rep if it gets that low.

So if I get infraction points, it'll be clearly labeled "infraction points"? This'll clear up my last confusion and I think this thread can be locked. Thanks for your answers.

Yes, if you recieve an infraction, it will be clearly labeled, and the amount of points it's worth will be displayed here: http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/usercp.php
You will also recieve a PM at the same time with a title along the lines of "You have recieved an Infraction".
If you have any more questions or concerns, please do feel free to message any one of the moderators or administrators with your query. You can also post another thread in the HQ if you prefer.
