I(Red for urgent) I was going through the achives, and, i think, most of the threads that were banned, shoulden't have been. The website motto is, Recover, Learn, Grow, right? But how can we learn or grow if you alway ban our posts everytime we want to know something were to scared to ask our parents or teachers? I find it unfair, rude and annoying.... Sorry, but I spreak my mind.

[Do not post in all red, moderators use it whilst editing posts, just like this one, thanks-Scarface:cowboy:]

If i agree will I get banned? because I think that is true I mean yes we are teens but can we get a warning like really because some kids don't know(trust me no kid reads the rules) and locking threads won't help kids understand themselves. Seriously.

I understand your frustration, but let's take a look at this. (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/announcement.php?f=18&a=229) Those are the ground rules of Puberty 101. Those threads that are in the archive are validly and correctly locked. If those sorts of threads were not locked, this would be more of a breeding ground for inappropriate threads and public talk, which will only bring a less than favorable crowd, which we're fighting, vigorously. We're more concerned about the members safety. Puberty 101 is for puberty related questions, not whether you can stick a 14' inch dildo up your ass, because I clearly don't remember learning the proper technique for that in Health class in school. Sex ED relations questions are acceptable and puberty related questions. Those rules are there for a very blatant reason and are pretty strictly enforced for a good cause. Google can be your friend if you believe that a question you're about to ask may not meet our set up.

What threads if I might ask?

Just look over the Archives. It's a world of inappropriate stuff.

Clearly, learning about how to jack off helps you "Recover, Learn, Grow."

There is a clear line (difference) between educational and inappropriate and I am sorry but from a professional point and I give my advice with a medical background and experience, some of the things that the mods say and allow I find inappropriate. I think there are many things that are given le-way.

Happy Posting though.

I was a mod. We got our asses kicked if we locked something we didn't need to. Posts aren't locked just for the fun of it

First of all, you can't "ban" a thread, you lock it
Secondly, if none of those threads were locked, then guess what this site would become?
That's right, a sex site. And this is a help site, not a sex site.
If you seek sex sites, please go elsewhere on the internet.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

Honey, some of the threads *cough* especially in *cough* p101 *cough* are completely inappropriate. Sure, we all need help but i mean... Seriously? i think they should be a bit tighter on the psych ward too to prevent people *cough* like me *cough* from posting things that may be triggering. Especially in the eating disorder section. I know I and a lotta other people recovering find some of the threads really triggering. In Something Fishy they banned all numbers and even the word "fat". So really, the mods here are pretty lenient. Hehe, thanks Donkey.

The mods have better things to do than to lock threads and ban members for no legimate reason.

I spend almost all of my time in p101 and I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever seen a thread that was locked that didn't deserve it for one reason or another.

I don't care if I get banned for agreeing. There's this thread I started "Girls that like to surf. Question for you." and a mod locked it for not being sex Ed. I think it was and it could have saved someone's life pretty much. The question was about if it's OK to go surfing while on her period. I mean WTH! Go bac and read it, the only response I got was a mod locking it. So yeah, Mods are being strict. Use some common sense, if it's a serious question like mine, don't lock it. But if it is definintly breaking the rules, I say yes.

But I let go of my serious question being locked, cause it's not like I'm trying to save a friends life or anything.

Sex ED is puberty and the change your body undergoes with it. Sharks and Vaginal blood aren't truly Sex Ed questions. On top of that, you, a MALE, posted it in the FEMALE section. And YOU don't need to know that. Had a GIRL asked that in the FEMALE section, it MAY [No guarantee] have been answered even though still somewhat off the core topic.

Also, I want to point out the VirtualTeen's motto IS NOT "Recover, Learn, and Grow Together." That is simply a phrase I coined to add into the banner and should not be mistaken as something else.

I'm going to agree with most of the stuff said in this thread already. The puberty forum is for questions about puberty. If you'll look carefully at the threads locked you'll find they are not puberty related whatsoever. Any threads locked are locked for good reason and the rules will not be changing any time soon. Its not a case of the mods loosening up because we're tight on rules for a reason, if you want to go to an unsafe site where no one cares about your well being then by all means you're free to leave but VT will never be a site that doesn't care for the safety and well being of its members.

Here's the issue we're missing here.

Most banned users are bots.

Always new members, Always P101. /facepalm.

Rules are set forth not only for safety, but to ensure site stability. Forums without rules never grow and always die very swiftly. Rules and hierarchy make up 75% of an active forum.

I asked it in the general ?'s for both guys and girls. I have common sense to where I know not to go in the girls section. I'm a learn the first time kind of guy.

I can't believe there is still strife over a post that was Locked days ago! It's done, it's over. It was ruled out as being Non-Sex-Ed, something all mods agreed on or it would have been UNLOCKED. Because, if you read the rules, it wasn't Sex-Ed. Maybe it could have passed over in a different part of the forum. But not in Puberty.

Mods do their job of enforcing the rules. One of which is locking all Non-Sex-Ed related topics. There's no "loosening up" about it. A job is a job and you can't run around all Willy-Nilly letting people do things that are against the rules! You don't see police officers running around letting kids pop tires and tag buildings, do ya? No, you don't. Because that would be "Loosening up" On their part and their head guys would get all mad about it. Not to mention it would turn their town into a dump, just like if we let people post all sorts of silly things that aren't even related to Forum Section.

It's just. Not really acceptable.

Actually you're right. I give a lot of posts le-way which I don't see to be completely sex-ed. I only lock threads that I think are both sex-ed, and either don't contribute to the forum or would be inappropriate for other users to elaborate on and discuss. VT is much, much more lenient than the vast majority of other forums. It's the rules we've had here that have stopped it becoming a massive breeding ground for pedophiles.

You're not going to get banned for agreeing or disagreeing. I've already said why that thread was locked. It's not sex-ed and non sex-ed threads clutter up the forum. Since I have told you why it was locked (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1396929&postcount=6), do you have to keep going on about it? It's a pretty stupid idea to swim in shark infested water in the first place - this isn't about saving your friends life, it's about you being unreasonable and not understanding that sharks have nothing to do with puberty.

You also have to remember that a lot of the posts in the archive are bumped threads too, all the others I have seen are inappropriate or someone has derailed the thread. http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=291

I hope you understand we're doing what we're doing for a reason - locking threads isn't much fun.
